Ted Smith. Here was his post:
bears 42 saints 14
i think the bears will step it up and instead of rex looking rusty for some of the regulars games he will turn into rex the ringer and have a field day. the bear offensive line will bear down so to speak and give no 8 plenty of time to find his targets. i think that the bears offensive line and backs will pick up the blitzes by the saints. On the bears defensive side of the ball the bears will get thier groove on and be on a seek and destroy mission to any saint that has the ball or close to getting it. i think the bears defense will a touchdown or two and that hester may also do the same.

Joe was closer, but no detail:
Bears 38
Saints 14
MVP Bears Defense
Good man. Now,we want to hear what your thoughts are in regard to the Superbowl. I give you more props than I would someone who said anything different. GO BEARS!!!
joe da man!
Way to go Ted Smith!!!!
As your reward, Roman will buy you a front row ticket for the Super Bowl and pay for your air fare, hotel and all expenses (including escort service).
If the Bears beat the Colts and win Super Bowl XLI, Roman buys you a nice house in South Beach, where you retire and watch the Bears return in 20 years to win yet another Super Bowl with Rex Grossman as head coach. Just having fun, Roman. Bears will win. It is their year.Unless of course the refs like Indy better, HA HA!
Congrats to Ted and Joe, but especially to the SUPER BOWL-bound Bears!!
There should be a consolation prize for comments like mine..I was only a little off, 34-20 Bears, but no sour grapes here, I applaud ALL the prognosticators who picked DA BEARS and have no sympathy for the disloyal traitors who picked the Saints--yeah I know about your free speech in our free country, but hey, go cry down south in Gumbo-land and stay out of our city of the big shoulders--you got WHIPPED!!BWAAAA!! LMAO!
Now we beat the Colts by a closer score, say...38-35?? Thank you Roman!
ROMO - enjoy your blogs...you need to do one on either the '85 Bears (is anyone else sick of them) and/or the ridiculous comments by Richard Dent who called himself the 2nd best DE in the history of football (guess he never saw Reggie White, Howie Long, Carl Eller, etc)
THE COLTS ARE THE SAME TEAM AS THE SAINTS, WITH A WORSE RUNNING GAME. LAY YOUR MORTGAGE ON THE BEARS MONEY LINE. THIS TIME IT MIGHT BE 52-14.
Hopefully the Colts will win!! I'm not too impressed by some of the Bears fans being so low to make Katrina remarks about the Saints Fans.
Maybe some day your city will have major devistation, don't come crying for our sympathy when you do.
Believe me, the Saints did not go home and cry. Our season superceded anything that any NFL team has done this year....including Duh Bears. My Dad's from the South side of Chicago so don't give me crap. I'm probably more of a Chicagoan by blood than most people living in Chicago. Rather than being poor, pathetic hosts and ignorant bullies why didn't Bears fans just let the team speak for them through their performance? In the early 90's, Bears fans treated Saints fans to battery-packed snowball hits. THAT'S the reputation and legacy you want? If you can recall, New Orleans hosted the Bears in their 1986 Superbowl win. We all did the Superbowl shuffle for that game. The Bears should have no problems in Miami as long as the referees are the same ones from the Chic-N.O. game. City of the Big Shoulders? Carl Sandburg would be so disappointed.
If you really want to berate anyone for that last game fiasco this isn't the forum for it. I'm pretty sure that there aren't too many people on this blog who attended the game. We're being subjected to hearing about what happened like we're to blame. I want to read about opinions in regard to the games yet to be played. Rehashing this stuff doesn't begin to eradicate what happened. Yeah, there were stupid fans there and they said some stupid things. We get that. No one but Saints fans said that they viewed these things. That's not saying that it didn't happen. Knowing Chicagoans all my life I've known some good and bad ones. That doesn't make or break my idea of Chicagoans. I'm sure that if the Saints fans ventured into the city and went to the museums and restaurants and other venues they experienced a different reaction than a bunch of drunk, ignorant and rabid fans. Numbskulls do not take anything away from this victory. When the Bulls were winnning often we all had to deal with those idiots who celebrated by turning over cars, shooting at each other and vandalizing things in the name of euphoria. We live here and so many Chicagoans went to help you guys when Katrina struck. Will you turn someone away who had helped you in your dire need? I'm sure when it struck it was only people from LA. Who were robbing, stealing and plundering like pirates. You guys have as much shame to live with as we do. There is no excuse for ignorance but please stop acting like it's limited to Us. People are people no matter where you live. This is a sports-blog. Those opinions you have about people acting badly should be directed to the social commentary section of the paper. I'm sorry it happened but that's all we can do for now. GO BEARS!!!
Hey Roman, you cheated me, just like that Bears saftey named Harris, I came closer, but that is okay.
Da Bears in the Da Super Bowl, and kicks Da Colts all over Da state of Florida not just Da Miami area, baby.
Go Bears!
Roman responds: How is your 30-24 closer to 39-14 than the 42-19 prediction of Ted Smith?
Hey William R. Donald! As much as you would like to ignore the fact that Bear Fan is an a**hole, you can't. Even if the atrocious behavior displayed before, during and after the game does not represent the majority of the fans, it is now the face of Bear nation. Rather than trying to tell offended Saints fans that we shouldn't be pissed, why don't you try to explain to your neanderthal brethren that they have serious issues and should invest in long term mental health care. I hope you enjoy the legacy smart guy.
congradulations to joe and his prediction of the score of the bear saints game. Go Bears
I never once said you shouldn't be angry,I'm saying that this isn't the forum for that. We have different columnists who have blogs where you can express people's behavior in Chicago. It'll reach more people who are willing to talk about it. You fail to realize that the whole nation isn't even aware of most of these transgressions against Saints fans. People are aware of what they want to be aware of. When I think of Louisiana and Katrina my first thought isn't the looters and what have you. For some people that is their first thought. You can't control what someone will feel. I don't know what you'll gain coming onto a sports blog and telling people who had nothing to do with that behavior that they should be guilty. Once ,twice three times. When is it enough to talk about it? I am not my brother's keeper. does saying that absolve me from blame? There have been things done that had people talking about it but everything has a shelf life. This is a sports blog. Not social commentary blog. What those idiots did is social commentary. I'm not defending their actions.I'm just saying that the shelf life expired. Who wants to us to think about looters and what we saw, that was negative, when Katrina first hit. New Orleanians would rather you think about the people who suffered and totally forget about the idiots there who took advantage of a negative situation. In response to your thinking that it's now our legacy: "if the shoe fit I'll wear it.If it ain't me I'll let it be". You're not going to make anyone who did what they did feel bad. Don't you know that you have to have a conscience to feel guilt. Those people don't. You have to rise above that stuff. And in doing so you can't accept their guilt. So why will you keep acting like you will get your point across by still talking about this? Needing mental help is a worldwide thing. It's not exclusive to Chicagoans. We can't keep saying we're sorry it happened. We're just fans who like to read about sports. That said,GO BEARS!!!
Roman responds: Now William, you've dedicated more than a few posts to a subject other than sports. The sign at Soldier Field was sickening. I'm taking a shot at whoever put it up in a section tomorrow called "The Sunday Drive." Not only are the fans who put it up ignorant, but other fans should have taken it down or had security do so.
I will be a DIE-HARD BEARS FAN from birth until my passing!! Always have been, always will be! The fact that I predicted Bears 34 Saints 20 probably has some of your panties in a bunch, but so what? Tough! Be a man about your team's loss, and dont be so thin-skinned girly about some banter about your team or your city! As to the whiny baby who posted something about our city suffering "major devastation"(yeah you spelled it devistation, your public school education is glaringly obvious)your ignorance is deplorable! We lost thousands of mainly older citizens in 1995 due to a few days of over 100 degrees coupled with ComEd losing the power for several days! Not even a lousy FAN to keep the heat away! It killed thousands of INNOCENT ELDERLY FOLKS!! We suffered, we grieved, and I dont recall YOU or anyone from Louisiana pitching in to help in any way! Did you even KNOW that happened in '95? If not, don't be so critical of our city or our people or our opinions, a man's opinion on a football game is not DEADLY like a Heat Wave or a Hurricane. Snap out of bizarro world and face reality! Bears 38 Colts 35!
Roman ,the only time I talk about anything but sports is when everyone talked about something other than sports. The Tank situation is the only time I ever went into anything other than sports and you tell me how many people did this situation strike a nerve with and you know it went beyond sports. How many people want to talk about it,now. It ran it's course. If a person keeps saying what our legacy would be who we actually ponder any truth to it. Ask any of the regulars if this is a topic that applies to them. Some people don't want to get involved with trying to tell someone to take a sign down. In Detroit they made sure that no one brought in any signs against Matt Millen. You can't tell people what not to do because with the idiots in this world it's an easy way to get killed. The BEARS and the city should have removed those signs. FOX accidently showed a girl in New Orleans with"F**k Da Eagles" on her shirt. Those people who wear shirts and put up signs are trying to get on TV and show some team spirit. Poor Taste is poor Taste. What do you want us to do, Roman? Not too many people are proud of the situation. We want some things to go away. Like I said:start a blog about what people think about the situation and see how many people give their two cents. The first 2 or 3 entries will be people predicting the BEARS/Colts and the other 4 or five will talk about something else. Then some people who entered earlier will repeat their same assessments. You know that's a fact. I know you media guys like for people to keep talking about something but believe me this isn't one of those things.
I'm one of the few Saint Fans that had a good experience in Chicago. I found the people for the most part to be friendly, and the city itself to be very clean. Unfortunately my friends who went to the game, and sat in Section 455 had to leave right after halftime. The fans there were rude and crude. They tormented the women, calling them Bourbon Street sluts, and expressed their desire to lay them. They threw beer on them and spit on them. Another Saints fan in the men's bathroom had his hat removed and thrown in the urinal. He was told how the Bears were going to flush the Saints just as Hurricane Katrina flushed the city. Outside the stadium before the game they had a Tuba and Trombone Player that was asked by about two dozen Saint fans to play "When the Saints Go Marching In". When they complied, two Chicago police officers approached and reminded the musicians where they were at, and told them to play something else. I guess being from the South, and a tourist town (New Orleans), we are brought up with hospitality on our minds. It seems like these "nasty" Bear fans were more concerned with tormenting the opposing fans then celebrating a decisive victory; what a shame. I just hope the thugs in the stadium don't put a black-eye on all the true Bear fans.
Roman, what about my prediction . I had Bears 34-25 and called exactly Rex to Berrian a TD and Jones two rushing TD's and Benson 1 TD.. Come on this was exact to what happened..and Briggs MVP, never heard if there was one awarded..
