Noone gives the Bears the credit they deserve or acknowledgement. I hope that the Bears win the super bowl so that maybe finally they will get the acknowledgement they deserve. Win or lose the Championships the Bears had a great season, and considering that basically this is Grossman's "first" season he has shown, with support and expience, he will be a awsome quarterback.

bad weather=a bears win.

Congratulations to Lovie Smith and the 2006-07 Chicago Bears. Despite all the criticism and scrutiny, they've done exactly what great teams do: win when it counts. Here's to a magical season, and let's hope for a magical Super Bowl!

In every aspect, the Bears were close to perfect. Rex played smart; running game controlled the clock; defense forced turnovers and contained the Saints' running game; and they didn't beat themselves in anyway with dumb penalties. So much for ESPN analysts.

Roman, my man. we did it YEAHHH!!!! Everyone doubted us, but we pulled it out. We are headed to Miami baby!!!!!!!.

GO BEARS

YES I TOLD YOU SO!

Bears 37, Saints 20

MVP: Thomas Jones

Tom Cruise has been married three times, and the Bulls have won six titles since the last time the Bears were in the Super Bowl.

But on Monday, Roman will be saying Samuria T was right on.

The Saints are nice, but it will be tough for Reggie Bush to get footing and outrun the entire Bears defense. Ron Turner will keep the game plan simple, meaning the Bears will control the clock and put the pressure on Brees, who will throw two INTs.

You might not believe me now, but I promise I won't tell you Monday that I told you so.

please gives the BEARS full credit for being a great team this year with a great coach. It is NOT because of channeling. It's the combination of team and coach. GO Bears!
You've been on top. One more to clinch!

Congratulations to the Bears and their fans everywhere. The Bears getting the Halas trophy is a great thing. They are the most talented team in the NFC and should be the NFC Champion. Let's keep our heads and bring home the Lombardi trophy. Go Bears!

All I can say is, Bears fans better pray that they get the same referees that gave them this game. They are still overrated and overhyped and everyone knows that they are the worst team that has been carried to too many victories by the bad officiating. If they win the Superbowl, I will never watch football again, knowing that such a crappy team was allowed to win because the officials decided to give them the game. I know that Chicago fans are desperate for a championship, but come on, enough is enough... You forgive a criminal because you have no one else to rush the quarterback and now one of your fans is paying off the officials. It's the only logical explanation for all the bad calls that are going their way. I would respect this team if they could win a game without the benefit of the officials calling every play their way. I still say they are overrated or just the beneficiary of a huge payment to the officiating staff. The first half of this game could not have been more obvious to that! someone wants the Bears to win at all costs, even if it means jeapordizing the integrity of the NFL, Seattle was robbed of the Superbowl last year, and now it seems as if the rest of the NFL will be robbed in favor of the Bears and the terrible calls going their way. It's hard to understand as a Bears fan...most of you are too stupid to understand any logic, but the reality is that they are being given a championship that they do not deserve. If you are that pathetic...then take it, but the rest of us know that this team will always have an asterisk next to it's B.S. season!

We went in as the underdogs. And you know what happens when someone calls us an Underdog in Chicago: we fight like hell.

I just moved back home and the Bears have always been my team. When I was in Florida, I had the chance to see the Bucs roll to the Superbowl. It was exciting. Now it's our time.

Im memory of #1 Bear Sweetness...

Can you please give the BEARS some credit NOW? Going to Miami!!!
Rex is now Superbowl quarterback...what do you have to say about that JAY? Shutup and support the BEARS!!

can someone please give the bears some credit
if anyone says anything about rex they will be shot
all those espn analysts need to stick their picks where the sun don't shine
i wanted to congratulate the defense on their 85 reminding performance...although in my opinion the 85 defense is definitely much better
but the offense compared to then is also favored to the 06 team...
rex did a beautiful job managing the game
t jones was a beast and c benz did what he had to
hester: good job not putting the ball on the ground
and once again..good job by the def.
and last but not least:
GET LOVIE SMITH A CONTRACT EXTENSION

In the words of Howard Dean: "BEEEYAAAHHHH!!!!"

I,m a Chicago n8tive and all year long I had to endure hateration here in Virginia Beach VA surrounded by Redskins, Caroliner and Dallas fans. Now I have total gradafication Da Bears are in the Super Bowl. I can't wait to go to work tommorow.

I am speechless!! Woo hoo!The D came back alive and controlled the tempo. We kicked thier spirts all day. Congratulations to all the Bears! It feels good as a fan to see the team go back to the Super Bowl!! Lets roll over the AFC now!!

BEAR DOWN

I knew that this would happen. I knew that all week long, all of the "experts" kept saying how bad the Bears D was, that all of that served to piss the Bears off. Totally dominant D, punishing run game, just enough Rex, and voila, an easy victory. But don't stop there, Sean Salisbury. Please, tell them how much better the AFC is than they are, and they have no chance. You too, Dr. Z!!!

Great. Now we have to listen to ESPN downplay this as well. E.ntirelyS.tupidP.eopleN.ow

Just because the Bears made it to the Super Bowl doesn't mean they are gonna win it. Bears fans just better be ready for the slap in the face when the Bears screw up and lose. It's gonna happen. So be ready to start crying.

Okay, eat crow all of you nay sayers!! Shame on you!! You reporters and fans, what is wrong with you?? Thank you, the Bears had reason to prove you wrong. Good night.

I've seen over a 100 Bears games. I saw all the home/playoff games in 1985, including the Superbowl. On this day, I shed a tear of happiness. Soldier Field and Chicago must be enveloped in BIG FUN. I live in Madrid, Spain, but my spirit is in Chicago right now. BEAR DOWN!

Great job Rex Grossman and the Bears!! Now maybe you can relax Rex and tell everyone to get off your back!! Know it all fans should look no further than the offensive line that suppose to protect our quarterback not get him killed. When Rex has time he's as good as any other QB in the league. As long as we have a defense show up Rex will win the game as shown in our win against the all mighty Saints.Good luck with the press the next two weeks Rex.Their on your side this week.

Fantastic performance on both sides of the ball. Co-MVP's Thomas Jones and Mark Anderson. See you in Miami! Go BEARS!

P.S. Another lucky win BBB? I suppose it all come to an end in the Super Bowl now?! Or did Lovie and his staff fix their terrible coaching?

P.S.S. I love you William R. Donald, you are a true BEARS fan like me.

Looks like the Bears have their defensive mojo back after a stellar performance against the Saints in the last 25 minutes of the game. Truth be told, I feel a lot better going into Miami now than I would have if the defense had allowed too many points again. Grossman was effective if not spectacular. I think a similar performance is capable of taking care of either the Colts or the Pats.

Nice job by the Bears. Glad to see all of the critics silenced.

One of your articles credits Ditka and Jim McMahon for the "85 Bears. What happened to Steve Fuller who took over the team and gave the Bear's the chance at the Super Bowl.

Born and raised in Illinois and a die hard BEARS FAN but Rex Grossman is without a doubt the weakest link.

All the talk about pro-bowl quartebacks, which defense will show up against the #1 offense and so forth. Well here we are Chicago back on top with our chins up and no one to say anything negative anymore.. Super Bowl bound Bears BABY!!!

I'm happy that the bears won. I could have done without the woman announcer's comment that Thomas Jones wants to win because he has a Ferrari in Miami and he wants to drive it.

How self-centered can you be. How about winning the game for the city, or the people that spent their entire paycheck for a single ticket to see your spoiled ass play. Don't forget who funds your paycheck you idiot.

Way to make the "ordinary" fans feel appreciated. Let the city of Chicago feel better about the win because Thomas Jones gets to drive his Ferrari.

Finally is anyone going to give the BEARS the respect they deserve. I am dying to see Marotti eat his words tomorrow.

I bet you the team will not get the credit only the weather will.

GREAT JOB GUYS SEE YOU IN MIAMI. GO BEARS

LOU

GREAT JOB BEARS!! This is especially sweet because NONE of the 'experts' had the bears winning. Da Coach was the only one. Even Mariotti picked the saints (lower case intended). Let's soak this one up --- IT'S OUR TIME!

Well done, Chicago Bears....as a die hard Packer fan who grew up in a Chicago Bear family and town, I found it hard to not be happy for all my friends and family...but I think Rex is getting more respect than he actually deserves. If it wasn't for the defense that forced two? fumbles and intercepted a pass, I can't say Rex would have stepped up to the plate all by himself. That being said, if they win the Superbowl....well, you still didn't sweep us....

GOOD LUCK BEARS

If you have a parking pass, but no ticket to the Super Bowl will you be allowed to park? Is tailgating allowed?

Mr Barranco, you are without a doubt the most asinine person I've ever heard. We've had the doubters .O.K. But to sit here and say payoff you are beyond stupid. Even if you erase a couple of penalties the BEARS would win this game. The Saints were beloved by everyone and no one had faith in the BEARS but their true fans. I love all you guys who stood by this team when our fellow fans were stoning them for not being 85-like. I wish I could personally laugh in the face of every 'EXPERT" who said that the BEARS would lose. See,when you stop thinking with your prejudice and view the games with more fact then you'll call it correctly. So many people wanted the Saints to win that they forgot that they had to play the BEARS at home in the cold. "Dome sweet Dome"."There's no such thing as BEARS weather"? Over the past 6 months there has been several of us who believed all along. Some of you negative people ran them off but if they are still with us I say bless you. Whatever would possess someone to come on this blog at this moment and try to bring us down? I didn't have "hope" all season long I had faith. I called us a team of destiny way back in Sept/Oct and said that Destiny for us wasn't a stripper. Thank you Mark for acknowleding me as a fan. I really appreciate it. I hope no one's head exploded writing "Lucky". That was one hell of a joke. The best one I've ever heard. Our work is not done but I still have that unyealding faith in this team. Funny, how all the guys you guys called out played well in this game. Stick to being fans and stop acting like you know-it-all. I told you our CBs will play great. Little Nate Vasher ripped the ball away from their Tight end. That's heart. The absolute worst 13-3 to finish the season---Going to the Superbowl!!!! How about that. GO BEARS!!!!

I hope no one gives us respect. Even after this game. If they play like that when they feel slighted. Keep on slighting them. The NFC Champions Chicago BEARS. MY GUYS!!! GO BEARS!!!

It wasn't a close game, whatever you want to say about the officials Mr. Barranco at 5:44. Sounds more like sour grapes to me. The Bears won, accept it. They are going to the Big Show Mr. Taylor, and sure someone will lose. But being 2nd in the SuperBowl is better than not going. I believe in the Bears and Lovie! Go Bears!!

Wrote b4 that the D had to step it up & results showed that! When the D steps up it allows the offense to flow .Rex just had to play without turning it over & he did.Rex has to be commended for playing a great game especially down stretch.Rex took allot of grief from media & bloggers like me deservingly so.But showed he can get job done! Now just one more game to get it done!

YEEEHAWWWW!!! I knew the D would step up big! (Mind-melds work wonders, don't they?) Rexy had that deer-in-the-headlights look at first, and after the Saints scored twice, my heart was in my throat. But tough D got us the safety, then Rex stepped up when he needed to and drove us down the field. That was huge for Rex, and that TD served notice that our offense was back. From there it was a cakewalk, (or a promenade du gateau, for all you Saints fans). Hope you will be as gracious as some of the Seahawk fans were on this blog. Congratulations on a great season--our D was just too good today, and our offense did what it had to do. I was at a party last night, and everyone was picking the Saints. I said, "Yeah, the Saints have America on their side, and the Bears have Jim Belushi...and me." Good job, Jim! (Pats self on back.) Robert Barranco, don't you think if the NFL wanted to throw the game, it would have thrown it to the Saints? You know, America's team and all that. It would have been a heartwarming story for everyone but us Bears fans. You seem pretty bitter--perhaps you need to up your meds. Congrats to William D. and all the other die-hard Bear bloggers---we've got mojo in Chicago, too!

Bears fans, this bud's for you

Roman, can you teach people how to read the blogs. BBB did not mention all that the mayor accused him of. It was Mr. Barranco still hating after all these games. Posted is above the name Mayor. GO BEARS!!!

It's amazing that after you take into account the vaulted quarterbacks, the flashy receivers and the offensive theories, in the end it's the team that pushes the other team around most that triumphs.
Our Bears did most of the pushing and big hitting today. Minimal mistakes and opportunistic play.
The Bears are in the Super Bowl and I've waited 21 years to say that one again. And it is pretty sweet. Now, in two weeks, let's win the damn game!

After Reggie Bush's hot doggin' flip into the end zone 88 yard touchdown, Joe Buck and Troy wouldn't shut up about it...But did anyone else pick up on Troy and Joe's silence after Bernard Berrian's "on his back rool into the end-zone" catch? Tell me they're not biased or they just couldn't believe it!
Da Bears!

YEAH Bears, a win is a win and that is all that counts...but this was an impressive win,,,

Would it be considered a failed season if the Bears march down to Miami and lose against the Patriots?

What a game. The BEARS responded to a momentum change that could have destroyed lesser teams early in the 3rd quarter. The "D" did it. Maynard is the man for getting that punt at the 5 eventually forcing Brees's safety. That was when the BEARS grabbed the game by the throat and forced the momentum change back.
Actually the BEARS "D" only fell a little flat with Bushleagues 88 yd catch and run. I've never wanted to see someone pancaked like I did Bush after that run and point at Urlacher. I'm afraid I would have cheapshotted him if I had a chance after that pointing and little dance in the endzone.
Barranco needs to get a life if he thinks this was about officiating. If you want to live on negative energy and be a bitter critter then thats your destiny Mr. B.
I am just basking in the glow of a victory that the BEARS grabbed back from that fickle dame Destiny.
Mr. William R. Donald let me just share my joy with you and the TRUE BEAR fans. Anyone else who has sweated the little stuff and complained, I don't think has gotten the sheer joy this has brought us.
What a game. I remember saying this 16 weeks ago, "see you in Miami". I will be there, just got my tickets from my buddy at Ticketmaster (whos from Chicago and also a big BEARS fan).
Congatulaions Lovie and Rex, nobody wants to give them the credit they deserve. The reality I live in says they're winners and in the Big Show. I'm happier than a pig in sh#%.

Bear down, Chicago Bears!! All you experts are pathetic saps! Picking the Saints, give me a break. Your're so full of yourselves and have no common sense at all.

I remember the parade in '86 and the Lions at the Field Museum wearing Bears helmets. Can't believe it's been 21 years since then, but here we are again!

As a Bears fan in Dallas, let me tell you, I got sick and tired of all of the Saints talk (ie. "team of destiny," "Cinderella Story", blah blah blah). This team beat them and then some. On to Miami! GO BEARS!

Just another thought, didn't the pharisee's say Jesus was over rated and over hyped? Not that there is any comparison, but it is a matter of personal perception. If you want to believe that life is a series of conspiracies, thats your right. Just because you say it, does not make it so. The referees can't really groove it for the BEARS, they used up all their hinky hi-jinks last year for the steelers. Poo Poo to the non-believers.

I wish I had a dollar for every person that said that Deuce McAllister was going to run all over the Bears. I'd have enough money to buy my ticket for the Super Bowl!
GO BEARS!!!!

I knew that this would happen. I knew that all week long, all of the "experts" kept saying how bad the Bears D was, that all of that served to piss the Bears off. Mr. Barranco. Would you like some cheese with that whine. There are three aspects to football, but the talking heads only care about offense. The Bears are a much better team than the Saints. Sorry, but the scoreboard proved it today. Blaming refs is for losers.

A big raspberry to ESPN where every single one of their "analysts" picked the Saints to win. The ESPN computer, though, picked the Bears. Other than Dan Pompeii, who else from the national media picked the Bears to win?

Green Bay Bob

Can you honestly tell me that whoever wins this AFC game will get any sleep these next 2 weeks after watching the film of of this Bears defense ? As a former QB I know this might be the longest 2 weeks of their lives. Game over. Go Bears.

I want to say a few short things.
1. Forget you ESPN
2. Weather had nothing to do with it.
3. You guys are the best don't forget it,you gave us a thrilling season. The unpredictably of the season made it all the better.
I think it also kept the opponents off guard they never knew what to expect.
And the Saints go marching home. Boo ya

Can you honestly tell me that whoever wins this AFC game will get any sleep these next 2 weeks after watching the film of of this Bears defense ? As a former QB I know this might be the longest 2 weeks of their lives. Game over. Go Bears.

I love the way the defense played. I love the way Rex overcame the slow start to finish strong. I hope that "experts" and so-called fans will get off his back. I love the way T. Jones has decided to become available to the media the past month. I love the way this team played. BEAR DOWN!!! I love their chances against anyone in the league.

The Bears are who we thought they were! Unfortunately, they weren't the team ESPN thought they were. Thank you for picking us as underdogs. We love it!

What's up with that guy dissing da Bears cuz of the refs? If he doesn't wanna watch our Bears win, we're better off! Go work on your next conspiracy theory dude cuz there isn't one here!! Our Bears won fair and square - they get it goin when they need to, and they did it again today!

Miami, here we come baby!

Congrats! Good luck in Miami!

Where is JOHNF??A little faith we have???

Bears D came to play!!! Running game was outstanding... most important, rex did just enough and did have any turnovers!

GO BEARS!!!

This is awesome!!!

To all the "ESPN Experts" who picked the saints and the rest of the talking heads, in your face!

The bears took all the disrespect and turned in a awesome performance! I know they will be underdogs in the super bowl, and that is fine with me... bring it baby!

What happened to the unstoppable saints offense?!?! Deuce who?!? Bush had one good play, and I thought that was total "bush" league, with the taunt and somersault at the end... should have got taunting penalty! Believe that also fueled the fire for the bears. And they kept saying the weather would not affect them? Sure look liked it did!

Anyways, we're off to Miami baby!

DA BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dennis Green, you who ran Northwestern to 32 straight defeats, it is time to "Crown Our Ass"! NFC title first, and in two weeks, you can "C O A" again! All of us in South Florida can not wait to see our fellow Bears fans come down and tear up South Beach!

never seen such one sided announcers in my life. Buck and Aikman why don't you just move to New Orleans. Glad Fox isn't doing the Super Bowl.Go Bears!!!

Hey Barranco!

You sounds like sour grapes from saints fan... fairy tale season is over.

Man, saints got BLOWN out! No pun intended (Katrina, blown out... bad joke, sorry)

You guys are blaming Big Bad Bear for all the stupid comments of the Dallas fan, Barranco. The name of the blogger is underneath the post. He says the refs won the game for the Bears. The only call that was even close to questionable was the kick-off return fumble in the first half.It was reveiwed and the call on the field was upheld. The Bears got 3 points on that one. Overturn it and we still win 36-14.I hope the Bears win the Super Bowl so you will stop watching football as you claim you will do. When you refer to "the rest of us" in your blog, I assume you are referring to the rest of the inmates in the looney bin.If the Bears are so crappy as you say, then what does that make Dallas. Save up your money to pay off the refs next season so Dallas can be in the Super Bowl, because this year it's going to be the Bears representing the NFC. Kudos to Corproation X and Paranoia!
God Bless William R. Donald. He is a true Bears fan and has the best posts on this blog.

William, baby, I'm right with you--bring on all the disrespect, all the doubt, all the criticism--bring all of that on, 'cause the Bears are in the Super Bowl, THE BEARS ARE IN THE SUPER BOWL!!!

Lemme see--Deuce McCalister rushes for 18 yards.

Brees throws for a chunk of yards and two touchdowns...but also throws a pick and a safety.

Frostbitten Saints slink back to New Orleans, while the NFC champs happen to be (say it with me, y'all)--

"A CERTAIN TEAM, FROM A CERTAIN TOWN, A TEAM THAT IS KNOWN AS DA BEARSSSS"

Whatcha got to say now Gene WojoCLOWNSKI?

I hope the "experts" keep doubting the Bears.

Good Job guys thanks for the season. ONE MORE TO GO!!!!

GO BEARS!!!!!!

So last year's draft, the Bears got trounced for. We get Manning, Anderson, Hester and now we are going to the Superbowl. Thanks Angelo. I honestly thought we wouldn't get by the Saints, but after the 1st quarter I saw the defense had came to play. Great game and a great season, win or lose the Superbowl, this was a great year. We should all lay off of Rex now.

despite Trex game, WE WON, THANK YOU DEFENSE.......11-26 PASES, THAT IS BAD!!!!

My apologies to BigBadBear. I just read the postings wrong. Sorry. Please apply these to Mr. Barranco and thank you to Mr. Donald for bringing it to my attention.

SHAME ON YOU:

the entire ESPN crew, 6 out of 8 of the Sports Illustrated crew, Mariotti, all 4 of the Inside the NFL guys...most of the Tribune staff... lets just say the ENTIRE SPORTS MEDIA. This entire group should bow their tiny heads and give praise to the Bears. Simply, as most of us here knew, the better of the 2 teams in the NFC Championship game. Bravo.

Finally, here's a big finger to anyone with the time to spend posting EVEN more negative garbage on this blog. Go back to Green Bay.

BEAR DOWN Chicago Bears - we are off to Miami ! Looked like the Saints and their Reggie "Bush" got "bushwacked" if you ask me. Bring it on Indy there was only only one great "Payton" and it wasn't spelled with an "e".

I've stayed away from this blog for some time now because of idiots like Barranco. Aren't you a Cowboys fan? You must be to make those idiotic comments. The Bears have been disrespected all year long and stepped up to the plate yet again to prove that we are the best in the NFC and soon in the NFL. I'm so sick of all the experts and wannabe experts that have said all their negative comments for the entire season. But I should thank you for putting a huge chip on our teams shoulder and making this season and win even sweeter. I wonder what the excuses will be this time? I hope the Colts are huge favorites and no one gives these Bears a chance. That way they can shove down all of your throats. Congrats to all Bears fans today. This team is a great team and its been an unbelievable ride that will end with the Monsters bringing the Lombardi trophy back to Chicago. I will have a smile on my face for a long time. Go Bears bring it HOME!!!!

Good job Bears. But for your fans to harrass guest to your city is wrong. Signs at Soldier's Field say that the "Bears will finish what Hurricane Katrina didn't" is in such bad taste. Do they realize that 1800 people died in New Orleans. They there was the throwing of drinks at some Saints fans in one section of the stadium. I would think that winning would be a time to celebrate and not a time for harrassing people trying to find some pleasure after suffering from this country's worst diaster in history. Contrats to the Bears, but shame on some of your fans.

To all of the idiots at ESPN, I guess now you are going to have to stop crying about Kitrina and the Saints and start bandwagoning about two african-american coaches being in the superbowl, because, obviously you know nothing about sports!!!

Hey Miss Barranco, who exactly are you cheering for anyways? Bears fan? Yeah, and Brett Favre is my idol. Bad calls? What game were you watching? Anything that was questionable was replayed about a million times and it was shown that the correct calls were made. Go jump on another team's bandwagon. We won't miss you.
I've waited 21 years for this day, and in 2 weeks we'll be able to say that we are THE BEST! GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so glad the Bears socked the Saints in the mouth today. All this week we've heard the pundits spewing the same pompous crap about the Saints deserving to win because their home town is still half underwater.

So, 60 football players and coaches going to Miami is supposed to make a city of homeless people feel better about their plight? That is the DUMBEST conceit I've ever heard. The only people who could feel good about that are pundits on TV who wouldn't board a plane to New Orleans if their first hummers in 20 years were waiting for them at the gate.

John Belushi would say RIGHT ON, BLUES BROTHERS! GO BEARS!

The Bears won because the "Defense" rose to the occasion. Rex Grossman rose to the occasion. An NFL team with an awesome defense and a mediocre offense will ALWAYS beat a strong offense and a mediocre defense. Go Bears!!!

Being an avid Bears fan and a person who takes my religion seriously, I know for a fact
that Sunday Jan. 21st is certainly not All Saints Day.

Congratulations, Bears! Here in New Orleans we still "believe" that the Saints gave us a great season. Right now, as I write, there are 500+ fans out at the airport waiting for the team to arrive. This is a new day for us. We'll be back! We love our Saints.

The Bears are playing like they did in the first part of the season and this means that the Colts are in for it. That Barranco fellow has his head up his.....Ah I won't say it. Anyway where I live in NW Indiana there are Colts fans so this is gonna be good. Sports is all about rivalry and here we have it. I've already read about how Payton is finally in the big game. I am sick to death of Payton Manning and his lame commercials, his antics at the line of scrimmage, the whole show. I hope and pray that the Bears "D" can put some big hits on him. With the one two punch of T Jones and C Benson I think the Colts weakness stopping the run will be their un-doing. No, Barranco, the Bears are not over rated and they didn't get to the Super Bowl because the refs gave them a break! I don't give a hoot in hell what the line will be, either way. I heard that before the game Lovie held up 20 newspapers to his team and said that 18 of them said that the Saints would win. He told his team that it was up to them to show the world they were real. The Bears are real. This is their time.

All year long I have told all these cowboy fans that it was going to be the bears in the Super bowl. In fact this morning I had all these guys at my church telling me the saints were going to run all over the bears just like they did the Cowgirls.

My response was simple. If they do not turn the ball over they will not loose to anyone. Not the saints and guess what Not the Colts either.

Run the ball down their throats and Rex can make a play or two I like our chances

Go BEARS

By the way I watched the game over again and the only even questionable call was the fumble on the kickoff return. I do believe that if they had called him down by contact there would not have been enough evidence to overturn it. But since they called it a fumble and the ball was moving in his arms before he went down they had to stick with the call. In either case we only scored a field goal on that possession. Wow we would have won by 22 instead of 25. Mr. Barranco I could see you getting upset if you lost by a field goal but you have lost your mind man.

although I live in illinois, I do not believe da bears should be heading to the super. Grossman will fade in the finale, and show chi town's biggest weakness in this sport. Great coaching by Lovey, wish St. Lou would have realized this.

Unbelievable! I said after week 2, "this is a special team!" Jerry Angelo has done it again, and we couldn't be more proud of a General Manager that knows how to assemble a SuperBowl team! The classiest organinization in the NFL is about to be on top once again :) YES

Talk about unsportsman-like conduct.......You few bears fans (you know who you are) should be shot! Our Saints got to the championship the same as the Bears....they earned it. Congrats the bears on the win. But that was no reason to harrass any Saints fan who went to YOUR wonderful city to support their team. Come on guys...throwing drinks, "Finishing what Katrina started", that was way over the line. One fan was told that he should have drowned in his flooded house. What kind of heartless a**holes are you??? This was just a friendly football game that shouldn't have turned personal. I can only hope that next time, AND THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME, you will be in OUR Great City and you will get a hard lesson in humility and how to treat others. I was born and raised here in N.O. and I'm tired of hearing about "Katrina" too. News flash, get over it. Its now part of "our" history and we will be hearing about this for years to come. All I can say is I hope that you will be treated just as bad in Miami as my fellow fans were treated in your hometown. Go Colts!!!!!!

To the Saints, Bless You Boys!!. We are proud of you.

Look out for the Saints next season. You won't know what hit you.

Some how you've got to love the Bear haters that resort to even accusing the fans of paying off the officials so the Bears will win. Officiating and the weather were not factors in the Bears victory over the Saints, the Bears simply out played them and if they carry that play over into the Super Bowl the Colts will be hard pressed to win.

NFC Champions: Bears!
What's with the crackpot whining about the refs? Why doesn't he mention what questionable calls he's talking about? Jeez, try and lose with some dignity or you'll look like a, well...loser!

I guess the Bears showed the "experts" (thanks Brian) how much they really know. Eveyrone seems to dis this team, it's almost a trend nowadays. They still are for the Superbowl (Las Vegas has initial odds with the Bears being 'dogs again). What does it take? The Bears have the best record in the NFL. They have the best defense in the NFL and an offense that, while it isn't up to par with the Colts, Chargers or Saints, does just enough to get it done. They start strong and the finish strong and that's what counts.

By the way, Reggie Bush: who's pointing at who now?

Well. well. well. well.

Well enough on offense.
Well enough on defense.
Well enough on special teams.
Well enough on coaching.
well. well. well. well!

Not bad for a QB who just finished his FIRST FULL SEASON! How many other "star" QB's have done this? I think Rex will get even better and more consistent w/time and experience. At the risk of sounding like a (loser) Cub fan, wait till next year! And, we ain't done yet!

Da Bears going to Da Super Bowl. Now everyone lets do Da Super Bowl shuffle

Congrats to da BEARS!!! As a lifelong bears fan I relished the domination of the best team in the NFL over a much over rated one. To the nay sayers, especially those living the Windy City, 'tis time to pack up and move out.... How dare you entertain thoughts and spout the BS that the saints would win....pathetic...

For the Super Bowl, I wish the Bears the best of luck, the world's greatest fans are cheering you on.

Critics be silenced. For all of the "predicitions" that were made, the Bears once again proved that not only are they a worthy team of winning the Superbowl, but a team worthy of Chicago love and support. They have done all they were ever asked to do...and now it is our turn. To the Bears: Our love and faith are with you...bring it home guys!

P.S. And Reggie Bush? The next time you point a finger at Brian Urlacher while you run AWAY from him, be prepared for the consequences. Stop falling to the ground before he gets to you...be a man, because right now, you are the sorriest Heisman trophy winner to ever have played. You are a rookie who, in this game, showed no class or no b*lls.

Tom Vaitys- It was pretty satisfying reading Jay's column at 3 a.m. this morning. I think Jay would agree that most of the prerequisites can be checked off for victory at 39-14! Rex stepped up and Rex delivered. Much as I have hoped and harangued for Brian Griese (since attending the Bears Cardinals pre-season game that warm summer eve)- I will happily sit down and dine on hat this morning. As far as ESPN goes well I hope all 8 experts like eating their hats as much as I do. Vegas was closer in its assessment but here’s the sure thing Rex my hats off to you buddy! Chicago we finally have our young closer.

Now I think I’ll listen to my favorite Al Hoffman tune Bear Down Chicago Bears- Make every play clear the way to victory!...

Thank you Reggie Bush,
for the great inspirtational speech you gave to the Bears!!!!!
the taunting of urlacher, the leap into the end zone
and last but not least the twist and shout move.
all it did was rally the troops and it worked, without your wonderful help
the saints might have won the game. Go Bears

STARTING WITH SEAN SALISBURY WHO MAKES A LIVING WORKING FOR A CHICAGO AUDIENCE RADIO. JUST LISTENING TO THEIR RADIO MAKES YOU SICK, I TURNED IT ON, TO SEE WHAT WERE THEY SAYING NOW, AND OF COURSE THEY CAN'T EVEN MENTION OUR BEARS, INSTEAD THEY ARE FULL OF COLTS FOR NOW. I JUST WANT TO SEE THEIR SORRY FACES IN TWO WEEKS WHEN DA BEARS BRING THE BIG ONE HOME.

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia it has been a frustrating 21 long years waiting for the mighty Monsters of the Midway to return from the wilderness. Memories of the "46" came flooding back as i watched Urlacher and the boys smash the Saints. The best offense is a good defense.

"Who Dat?" Dats Who!! I loved watching Soldiers field in the snow and mud, thats football. When I watched teh NFC game afterwards it was boring and pass happy. Otis Wilson said it best on the Final word last night "The AFC is girls they are afraid to be hit"

2 Beers: $13
Chicken Fingers: $6

Coming up on a free ticket to watch the home team end 21 years of Super Bowl frustration: Priceless

I just want to take the that I never doubted the Bears, I knew we would win, but it's not done yet.
In closing, I would like tpo give a special shout out to Jay Marrioti, Joe Buck and Troy Aikman and anyone of the writers who doubted the Bears, in the words of Jay-Z
"Dig a hole, bury yourself"

My buddy,JohnF was right: the BEARS couldn't hold Brees under 300 yards, they used Jones more than Benson, they had blind faith in Rex and they used Chris Harris more than Todd Johnson. What did all that get them? Lovie Smith couldn't be "like Mike" and Rivera and Turner were the Worst coordinators in the NFL. Our D was going to miss 2 players too much and they were too ordinary by the end of the regular season. What will all that get them? We didn't start Griese and we didn't get him enough reps. We could not possibly win against whoever the NFL is in love with that week. We haven't played anyone and our division was the worst in the NFL. How on earth will they beat the best team in the world? America's team. Too many experts say that their next game will reveal the true BEARS. Our old coach who's still making money off his BEARS credentials couldn't even come out and say they would win. Maybe the great hot sauce embargo of January 2007 will get him to see things our way. Or the Steak or Pork chop rebellion? Either way someone is going to see that you can't crown their asses because the rest of the NFL already know who they are. What can all this mish-mash of things get you? If you are going to do anything against your opponents you're gonna have to do it with every announcer, every play by play man, every ex-has-been-or-never-was jock with a micro phone, and the world at large not believing you're gonna do it. What will all that get you? I say,a berth in this year's Superbowl. I'm glad I don't have to backtrack or eat crow about anything negative I ever said about this team. The only negative I ever said is that no NFC team would win against a AFC team. After this game I have faith that the BEARS will reward every fan who didn't believe all the above would hold us back, I wish I can personally thank everyone who stood with me all these months in our belief that we would get this far. This team did it without some fans and everyone else doubting them. I'm glad I believed. I feel so rewarded by them. Not one day did this team have me down about our prospects. I recently lost my job of 18 years and blogging about this team kept my spirits up. They let me know that you can't keep a good team or good man down. That Said,GO BEARS!!!!

For the September 7th blog on who will represent in the Superbowl only ERIC PINI and ROBERT PERKINS picked the BEARS and the Colts to go. Great job guys. All the others who said BEARS good job as well. Good luck,GO BEARS!!!

Roman responds: Thanks for doing my research for me William.

So Barranco is a Cowboys fan, eh? I suppose a Seahawks fan paid off the Cowboys long snapper so Romo could muff the snap, huh?

Barranco, take your conspiracy theories and go home. You don't belong here.

Congrats Chicago on a big win. Now it will be the "Battle of I-65" with the Colts taking the win!

I admit I have been down on the Bears ever since the Arizona game. I picked them to go 8 and 8 for the remainder of the season. I said they were not a playoff team. I am truly repentent for my cynicism and lack of faith. The Bears might have gotten a couple of calls but so did the Saints.
I really thought that the Saints had the sympathy vote --though it seems kind of odd to me that the Superdome was fixed and the destitute New Orleans residents seemed to scape enough together to get to the game.
I respect the Saints and so do the Bears. The Bears played an awesome game and deserve to be in the Superbowl.

I have one Question? Why when the Saints fans season tickets holders tried to get tickets to the Saints/Bears game, they were told that they would not mail them except to a Illinois address. Perhaps afraid of the Saints Fan base?

YESSSS! NOW I CAN RE-STOCK MY BEARS KOOL-AIDE AND HAVE A COLD SUPPLY READY ON FEB 4TH. WOW! THIS ERASES BAD CUBS & HAWKS SEASONS AND SHINES A BIG BRIGHT POSITIVE LITE ON THE CHICAGO SPORTS SCENE ONCE AGAIN (TAKE THAT ESPN)! MAYBE NOW THE TALKING HEADS WILL GIVE US THE RESPECT WE DESERVE. DA BEARSSS.
STREAMWOOD FRANK

Thoughts on the game:

Well now I believe.....I know many of you have believed well before this game, and perhaps I had a little too much scar tissue from past disappointments, but I believe now. The Bears will win the Superbowl.

I'm still not sure how you throw for 354 yards and only score 14 points, I may have to watch the game a few more times to figure that out.

The defense played its best since Game 7 against the 49ers, I'm not sure why it took so long....

I was ready to throw Chris Harris under the bus after the Bush touchdown, but that was only one mistake and he caused that earlier fumble, so I'll stick with him.

The offensive line should get a bonus, no sacks and they just punished the Saints defense.

I'm not sure that was really a fumble on that kickoff, if he had been ruled down initially, they might have upheld that.

The championship moment for me was the safety. All of the momentum had shifted and the Bears decided that they were going to win the game, played their hearts out, and took the momentum back.

Grossman played a very smart game, missed some passes but made no glaring errors. He will probably have to play much better in two weeks.

I think the Bears have a very good chance in this next game. They have the defensive speed to keep up with the Colts offense, especially the Bears linebackers vs. the Colts tightends. And I believe the Bears can run against the Colts defense. It will be a close game if the Bears defense can keep the Colts offense off the field.

By the way, I like my crow deep fried with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy.

How is it that Fred Thomas looks as if he is blocking for the Bears while the RB goes in for the touchdown? I'll tell you, CAUSE HE'S BEING FACEMASKED, that's why!

Michael Lewis knee is down but let's rule it a fumble. Then let's give the ball back to the Bears even tough opps we forgot to blow the whistle. Give me a break, headlines should read "Bears pay dearly for Superbowl journey". REview the tape. You didn't win the game, the refs gave it to you. Resodding a field in the dead of winter. Did you know grass needs warm weather to grow? Idiots, I say, idiots!

They way Chicago treated the fans is horrible. Telling fans with money in their pockets to go home or telling them YOU are finishing what Katrina started. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves!

Hey JP, not all Saints fans live in NO you fool. And the Superdome is used for more than the Saints.
Tulane, Mardi Gras parades, Final 4, concerts, etc.

Oil is the other big economic base. Did you look at what port the oil that makes the gas in you car came through? Chances are it was here and it was refined here too! I don't see ships rolling into Chicago anywhere.

Just wanted to congratulate on the September 8 prediction! GReat job Jemaine!!!

Number one defense in NFL!
Defensive player of the year!
Coach of the year completly squashing the Bears losing culture!
One proven stud of a running back who went for 1300 against study 9 man fronts! One super talented prospect in Bensen. Vetran reciever in moose! Juke and shuke Rashed Davis! Speedsters in Berrian, Bradley, and Currie! Outstanding return game!
A kicker who can smash a 55 yarder! A proven vetren back up quarter back as insurance. And the best for last the man who will prove all unbelievers WRONG: Rex Grossma this guy has a rocket arm and he's not scarred. Go ahead and talk about managing the game all you want, it doesn't win big games. this guy might throw some interceptions this year but he'll throw alot more TDS. Sit back and enjoy the best Bears season since 1985 these guys are primed and ready. Moose does for Davis what he did for Steve Smith, the offense ranks top 5, D is #1 return game is #1, kicking game top 10
These guys are walking into the big game and winning it. Bears27 Colts 17

Chicago Bear Fans:

Let us give credit when credit is due.

Number(1): Robbie Gould needs to be given credit for the first nine(9) points of the game.

Number(2): Brad Maynard for all the punts placed inside the 15 yard line.

These two players were extremely key to Chicago Bears victory over New Orleans Saints.

Lets give these two gentlemen some T.V. air play in the news. The kicking game deserves it people.

Number(3): Offensive Line, for keeping Rex from being Bad Hex. Opening up the lanes for Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson. This alone kept the Saints mystified because they don't play smash mouth football.

Number(4): Defense came to play like MONSTERS of the MIDWAY!! Reggie Bush, if taunting Brian Urlacher and the rest of the defense FIRED them up. THANK YOU KNUCKLEHEAD!

Kick & Punt Return did not break free like I thought, BUT the people did not fumble the ball either.

Quarterback(5): Rex DID manage the game regardless of stats, and MADE plays when it was KEY! (That is all Bear fans expect of the quarterback. Yes we would like a Peyton Manning, but as long as Rex make a play here and there I AM HAPPY AS ALL OUTDOORS ON A SNOWY SUNDAY WINNING THE NFC DIVISIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

Da Bears, Da Bears!!

Super Bowl Bound, and bring the trophy back home to Chicago.

Go Bears!!

Hey,Roman I had a little time to do that. JohnF,thanks for not taking these digs about your doubt seriously. It's good to know that you can show up after everyone wanted to rub your nose in it. Way to go ,dude. GO BEARS!!!

Congratulations to our Bears,

i just learned about here in Galway Bay ireland-----came here Saturday from Chicago. b home in time for Superbowl. Go Bears.

Don't be that stupid! I know that most of you don't have the mental capacity to understand sarcasm, but try for a moment to sober up and realize that the Bears are not as good as they appear. They have been the recipients of lousy officiating going their way (the entire season) and have had the gift of facing lousy teams. The NFC is weak. They are the best of the worst in the NFL. Their defense played great on Sunday and if they can repeat that performance, then they will have a good shot at winning, stop with the greatness talk. Wait until you win the Superbowl and then you will get respect. Mouthing off after being the best in the NFC is not something to be that proud of. The Saints were playing better in the first half and there were a few bad calls that killed their momentum (ignorant Bears fans will never accept this), but their defense came through in the second half. If not for the fans and their obnoxious behavior, the Bears would have more people cheering them on. Take the role of "us against them attitude" but you better win it all. If you don't, the respect will never come and the ridicule will only get worse.

Roman responds: If the Cowboys were heading to Miami, would you be taking a wait-and-see attitude?

He wouldn't have to wait Roman. The Cowboys are obviously the best team in the NFC. Oh, whoops I guess you have to win a playoff game to even be in consideration for that. Maybe next year the Boys will benefit from the rampant poor officiating that has carried the Bears all year. Good luck with your new coach...oh, but what happens if its Turner or Rivera?

Congrats to the Bears but shame on the fans.

The story has already gone around New Orleans twice about a bears fan who asked a Saints fan if his home flooded. When he responded "yes, 11 feet of water" the unempathic fan replied..."too bad you didn't drown!"
I am offended not only as a native Mew Orleanian but as a human with compassion in there heart.
Bears enjoy your run in the Superbowl but forever be known as a heartless town which I vow to never step foot in.

From a City with Humility and pride even when our team loses!!!

Barranco, you keep sounding silly. After 24 hours of meditation you should be able to stop with the conspiracy theories. You are not gonna make one person feel guilty with your comments. You won't diminish the joy that every fan feel. What do you gain for your outburst. Remember we're BEARS fans so we're too stupid to feel guilt. You should stop it and go on a SAINT's blog and cosy up to them . Yeah, some of our fans were not sober enough to take into consideration how some people might feel. That's sad. Sadder still to have a Dallas fan on a blog bringing up his team who had been out of it for a few weeks now. The best thing for you to do now is show us how Dallas has level-headed fans. If not you are all we see of the Cowboys fans. Boy.they sure aren't much better than the sorry-A$$ fans the BEARS supposedly have. GO BEARS!!!

When Rex gets his ring after beating the Colts, he will put it on his middle finger and show it to the rest of the country.
Today showed which reporters are good people and which ones aren't. Golic on Mike and Mike was a hater, Gene Woj admitted to eating crow and opened his E-mail to recieve all the criticism, and Marrioti proved he doesn't belong in the city of Chicago when he dissed the Bears on Around the Horn.
Yet, who cares. If it was up to the media the NFC wouold forgo their Super Bowl spot and let the Chargers and Patriots duke it out in Miami.
GO BEARS!!! #1 in hood G.

Hey Reggie your hot dog dance brought on snow & defeat! Too cold to bring on rain!Cocky Reggie & his mates never scored again! SWWWEET! I'm sure saints will be heard from again regardless of Reggie's antics. New Orleans fans deserve a winner .But this is Da Bears time to shine! Go bears!

Mr. Barranco:

Enough with the excuses of why the saints lose!!!! "few bad calls".... thats my favorite, blaming the refs... hmm, did the saints lose by a point... no! they lost by 25 points! Thats a lot of bad calls! A whole boat load!

Was it the refs that made those big holes in the Saints D and let Jones and Benson gain 183 yards? Was it the refs that held the "dymanic duo" of Deuce and Bush to 37 yards rushing???? Was it the refs that made Brees cough up the ball 2 times and throw the ball to NOBODY twice for a intentional grounding call? Was it the refs that caused the saints receivers to drop numerous balls? Do we blame the refs for the saints having one of the worse defensive back (fred thomas) in the NFL?? Do we blame the refs for the weather and the bad field conditions (that Jones and Benson didn't seem to have a problem with...)??

Sure the Saints were playing better statistically in the 1st half... but the most important stat is the points baby! So which particular "bad call or calls" killed the momentum for the saints?? The OBVIOUS intentional grounding call, which was turned into a safety, giving the bears a 4 point lead?? That was a bad call?? Who was he throwing the ball too??????

True, the NFC is the weaker division... hmm, how far did those cowboys make it?? They must really stink! Even the big tuna is jumping ship! Sure there are other teams that may have better stats or better talent, but WINNING decides who is better! and guess what, the bears are the best in the NFC!

WHO DAT??!?!? DAT DA BEARS!!!

Great acting skills on the Bears players part pleading for the officials to make BAD calls against the Saints. If it weren't for the BAD Officiating the Saints would have been ahead at the half and would have won the game! There should be some sort of review of this BAD Officiating!!!!!

Hey Barranco, you talk like a little guy. BTW Doug Cosbie is a friend of mine, and even he thinks you're a moron. Remember in '85 the Bears beat Dallas 44-0. That made the cover of SI. Just walk away little one.

I am a Bears fan in S.Florida and I must say it is great to finally shut up N.Orleans, their fans, and espn about Katrina. Guess what, I lived through Katrina too, and Charlie, and Wilma, and about 5 others in the past 3 years, and I also lost my house in one of them and all of my belongings inside. There are no pity parties for people in South Florida, so as a Bears fan living down here, it is great to see the Bears shut everyone up, and it will be great to see them win their 10th NFL Championship in my own backyard.

Some fans are not very smart!Evidence blogger Greg mentioned fans with a sign Bears will finish off what Katrina didn't.Those bear fans holding that sign up had a very low IQ Id say! I'm a Chicago transplant now living out west.I'm happy Bears won ,but sometimes fans go too far in expressing themselves. This case shows some fans are not only classless but dumb too.Usually when I attend a game to watch a Chicago team it is in a visitors stadium. Fans can be bad regardless of what team or sport they are rooting for.Bringing a terrible tragedy like katrina & using it to root against the saints went too far.

More sour grapes, Barranco?

Whether or not the NFC is weak is not something the Bears have any control over. All they can do is play the game they've got and go from there. As for the Bears getting officiating calls "all year", list them. You and Anonymous need to take your act on the road as in GET OUT OF HERE!

Anonymous, calm down. Are you trying to tell me that ALL the Bears fans were treating the Saints fans that way? I think not. As usual, you generalize too much. I respect what the Saints have done this year and what they've done for the city. Face it, you got your bu** kicked. Get over it and try again next year. Considering the history your franchise has had, I would imagine that you should be glad of how they are now. Keep the faith but don't forget, so will we, in our Bears. Lets hope both teams bring some respect back to the NFC.

SW, I can't believe you think the intentional grounding call was a bad call? Who was Brees throwing it to? Besides that, he could have been called on the play before but wasn't caught. I can't believe you're crying over 2 points. You should worry about the other 21 points scored against you in the half. Maybe the Saints came in believing too much of the hype about them and paying too much attention of what the media had to say about the Bears.

Roman responds: Brees didn't even contest the call.

I do not dispute allegations some folks make that some Saints fans were mistreated at th game. However I was at the game & witnessed 0(as in zero) mistreatment of Saint fans in my seating area or in the concourses. I have witnessed NFL games over the years in many stadia & I do not believe the fan treatment of opposing fans at Bear games is any worse than anywhere else. A sure everywhere to invite abuse is to taunt or be obnoxious yourself.

So, Dick Ruzicka, you're implying that the Saints fans who were verbally, physically & visually abused may have brought it on themselves? I know 8 people who went to Chicago and Soldier Field to watch the game and ALL of them reported abusive, hurtful and hate-filled comments when all they were doing was minding their own business. The comments even crossed the line referring to Katrina, FEMA trailers, government assistance & death. In some cases they were abused on the transit platforms just because they had articles of Saints clothing on.

Peyton Manning Playoff Performance
TDs 2, INTs 6, Rating 63.5

Rex Grossman Playoff Performance
TDs 2, INTs 1, Rating 75.0

Au Contraire Garry. I implied no such thing. I said definitively that I witnessed no abuse of Saint fans. There were a number of them in my area. I also stated definitively that I was not disputing other reports of abuse. I wanted to supply some balance & indicate that all Bear fans are not abusive. Actually within my purview were thousands of Bear fans including my ingress & egress & probably 100 Saint fans. My observation that sometimes visiting fans do bring on abuse was not made to imply that this is always the case, merely that sometimes it is. Anyway thanks for responding..

I just want to say that some of you Bears fans proved just what kind of people you are. Football is football. It's just a game. It's not life. These signs that appeared saying "Bears Finishing What Katrina Started" are nothing but heartless and classless. I am from Louisiana; I actually came out of that mess that was Hurricane Katrina. I am ashamed FOR you. I hope you're proud of yourselves.

P.S. And that is exactly why the Colts are going to win the Superbowl.

anyone who thought the bears wouldnt make it to the super bowl, please stand up.

that shows you how smart you are, you stood up. your are alone at your computer.

now for the real bear fans; h..l yeah, feels great to be a real football fan. now for the predictions. i have a funny feeling that with lance briggs looking to cash in on the biggest pay check by an outside linebacker, mister manning will be running for his life looking to the nose bleed seats for daddy and balling his eyes out wondering why archie wouldnt let him alone to play with his dollies. "its ok payton shake it off, rub some dirt on it. you should be calling your paper boy. after all even you think he has the better arm in your neighborhood. we wont even mention the waitress.

back to the predictions now that i have the pony fans' attention.
three picks by manning, four fumbles by the ponies, two bears defencive touchdowns, one punt returned, three robbie gould field goals, one td pass for grossman, jones rushes for two touchdowns, benson plows through the pony ride line for one, and just to rub salt in the wounds, peterson picks up one of those fumbles from the my little pony special teams and returns it for a score. now let me see that is looks like 65 pionts for the bears. 0 for the colts.
whats that leave? an indy team with no coach because he wasnt even let back in indianapolis' city limits, payton goes back to la. with his famous daddy. which they are promptly tied to stacks and put voodoo curses on them.

a note to all colt fans and all football fans everywhere; it is only a game. it is a release for the working man to forget about thier bills and thier worries for a while. so that everyone can spend time with thier kids and enjoy the simpler things together. sports are meant to be fun, not to fuel a fight. life is tough enough lets not make football a cause for violence.
this game will be a close one; bears 19 colts 17.
thank you and see everyone next august.

to the proud saints fan
we are all not like the people you are talking about. some people everywhere forget the more important things in life, like uh "LIFE". what happened in new orleans last year was to say the least "tragic". i live near tampa and i seen first hand what 4 four hurricans can do not to mention the 2 that crossed in the same place. there is nothing wrong with a good rivalry, but let us not forget that we are all the same spieces. we all deserve the same treatment and respect. but unfortunately those kind of people are EVERYWHERE.

Way too go Bears, A fan living in Northern VA.

Way to go bears! D looked good, that reggie bushleague run was a pick play. but he did get the bears fired up by taunting so have to thank him for that, thank you Mr. bushleague have a nice offseason. i'm sure your coaches and teammates will have some suggestions for you to think about, especially after you fell at urlachers feet to avoid getting hit later in the game.

The lil fellar played pretty good. No drops, no interceptions, no sacks. that is almost approaching offensive command and efficiency. The line, and the playcalling, seemed to show a few new looks to the saints defense and give the lil fellar more time and room to throw. Have to love the running game too, that all jones all the time drive was one for the books. Hope the bears o line can play like that against the colts. The bears o line and running game can win the game for the bears. Somehow i think the bears d will be up to the challenge.

The lil fellar just needs to not try and do too much, not revert to florida gunslinger mentality, and take what the d gives them which should be plenty for a bears win. He should feel comfortable playing in florida again, so hope he isn't all nervous or anything. Maybe muhammed will show up for this game too and help out the offense, he has the experience. Go bears! (bears27 colts23)

Some thoughts from a Chicago fan:

First, not all Bears or Chicago sports fans are stupid, ignorant or heartless. The ones holding distasteful signs and using abusive language against visitors are all of the above. But, let's not generalize. Each Pro-sports city has their share of idiots.
Next, the guys pushing the " bad officiating " conspiracy are the same guys who picked other teams to beat the Bears in the Playoffs. First it was the Giants, then Dallas, then Philly and Seattle and then New Orleans. There was no talk of the officials being a factor until the Bears left all those teams in their wake. It's the only thing left to say when you aren't adult enough to give the winning team credit. When the Bears beat Indy, (you know that team from the better AFC conference), can we finally crown their a$$ ? If Indy wins, I'm willing to give them all the credit, not cry about refs or whatever. I think it will be a great game. Lovie against his mentor Tony Dungy. Gotta love it!

And last, there is talk that Dallas might be interested in getting Lovie to replace Parcells. What will you do then, Mr. Barranco ? Become a Bears fan ????????

Go Bears!!!!!!!

How much are the BEARS willing to pay Lovie? Someone heard 2.7 mil a year. If that's a fact let him go. No one should be made to accept a low ball offer just because the owners are dorks. It'll be a long time before we get a quality coach if they keep lowballing prospects. Lovie need to be paid like the elite coach he is. It's not my money but if it was my business I would put a stop to that mom and pop mentality. The McCaskeys are rolling in dough because of the teams they fielded in the 80s. How much money can you take to your grave. It's no one's fault that they have 10 siblings who have nothing to do but get money from mommy who was gifted this team by her dying dad. They didn't buy into it so they really didn't earn it. I've been a fan for 30 years and the nature of this game and sports overall is sickening. If you have to pay for talent ,pay for it. When you don't only the true fans suffer. Like I said:it's not my money. But to be a fan is a choice. GO BEARS!!!

Usually i'm on this blog right away but the last few days i've been in the hospital because of what a few people have called here classy fans of new orleans. After the game i went out to celebrate with a few of my neighbors ,who by the way are saints fans.Living in New Orleans i know what to say and what not say about the saints being a bears fan with a bears jersey after a ASS WHOOPIN my boys put on them.Long story short i got into altercation and took a pool stick to my grill for wearing a bears jersey. If what has been reported about saints fans being mistreated at the game is true then GOOD!Two of my friends got arrested for sticking up for me and not i got to have a few false teeth put in and a broken jaw because of "classy" fans. But I will still wear my PAYTON throwback with pride even it has blood stains. My flag still blowin with bears pride and it will stay up no matter what year round.

Like some of the losses, I had to let this win soak in a bit before I post. All I can say is...one... more... Game! And I know we will win. One more thing, is it me, or do ESPN hate the bears? Just wondering, because it seems like it.

Ok, so I'm guilty as charged. Waking up at 7:30 in the morning to a thin Bloody Mary progressively found me stirred into a frenzy of fearsome football ferocity, which within an hour of kickoff had me ready to break something, have a heart attack, crush another CL-Smoothe (Coors Light for the layman), eat a sausage, or make fun of 'Nawlins!

I'll stop it there, but people have to understand that football, at it's core, isn't a friendly game. Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith may be friends, but believe me, anyone who's played football knows you hate the enemy, if only on gameday. This is not a gentleman's game. Nothing is sacred that doesn't start with "W" and end with "IN". As a drunken fanatic, I'm supposed to check my sense of humor at the door? I must say that telling a complete stranger "Too bad you didn't drown" is crossing a line, and very well deserves recourse in the form of a kick in the nuts or an old-fashioned roman-style cursing of the perpetrator. Look, I'm 26 and Sunday was the most important and intense Bears game of my entire life, except for the '85 SuperBowl which very well may be the first memory of my life, and certainly my first run-in with "intensity"! Don't expect me, as a competitor, to be nice, friendly, accomodating, un-funny, sober, rational, or stable in any way shape or form on gameday. Expect a mean, angry, rude, tough, hilarious, irrational and unstable Bear fan whenever the stakes are this high. Don't take it personally people of the delta, my fellow Americans. It's about me, not you. I mean c'mon, my blood alcohol is .227 at least. You can surely understand that. After the Bears victory though, I'm all smiles and gracious apologies to the city 'Nawlins. I'm so happy and thankful for everyone who made the trip up to Soldier Field and toughed it out in the windy cold for an afternoon. Bless their little hearts! \

GO CUBS!

Hey Dale/Fl.....
I was directing my post to the idiots who had the lack of compassion for their fellow man. I was in no way saying that all people in Chicago (or anywhere else for that matter) are that way. Unfortunatly, we have the same kind of idiots here too that like to cross "the line" and take a friendly rivalry too far. Apologies for not making that clearer. I just got my knickers in a twist, so to speak, with all of the "Katrina" bull.
REMEMBER PEOPLE....FOOTBALL IS JUST A GAME. No need for us fans to get physical, that's what the players are paid the big bucks for. ~~~Happy Mardi Gras~~~

If bad officiating didn't play a part this year then why is it listed as one of the 41 reason's the Bears should win?

Also, resodding the field? You could've saved yourselves by putting door mats out there. Would've had the smmae effect.

Just read some of the editorials in the Times Picayune? Guy takes his 10 year old and gets cursed at, drenched in beer and food thrown at him. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

About Katrina? 80,000 homes were lost or damaged. Can you even count that high? This town only had 500,000 residents. that's a huge percentage. Think for a night if the same percentage of your city were ruined. Maybe you'll think twice about what you say!

If you win next week, who cares, you made so many enemies along the way that it will overshadow even a win!

I would like to start by saying that I am live in the New Orleans area, and I am a life long die- hard Saints fan. Win or lose I am one of few that hasn't gotten exhausted from jumping on and off the bandwagon. I give the bears credit for getting as far as they did, but I will say that the Saints beat the Saints, not the bears.
After reading all of the recent post on this forum, I will say that being a visiting fan in another stadium isn't the same league wide. I have gone to Tampa the past six years and made friends every year i've been there. If one is ever lucky enough to travel to New Orleans for a game, you may be surprised to see that this town is compassionate about their football team, but very hospitable to the opposing teams fans. Have a drink, eat some jambalaya, let's talk about the game. I know all the bears fans are not guilty of the types of actions that are being circulated around town, but the one's who did should be beyond disgusted with him or herself.

I agree with the above post. I have lived in Metarie, New Orleans, LaPlace and Mandeville. I worked in NO for 7 1/2 years.

I have gone to the Dome for 1-3 games a year. The most memorable was a Monday night with the Rams. We had so much fun with the fans we met in the Quarter before the game. Even though they were the minority, we cheered them whenever they came into a bar and high fived them. We were happy they came. We were honored. It was a chance to have fun with visitors from somewhere else in the country.

This past Sunday, many Bears fans’ behavior was atrocious and appalling. However, these troublemakers do not represent the entire citizenry of your great city. Yes, you are passionate, fanatical and perhaps a bit overly zealous about “Da Bears,” but fortunately most are not physically confrontational.

In section 220, we Saints fans were surrounded by energized Bears. They were raucous and rowdy. They were a bit overbearing, -pun intended- but their taunts were expected yet tolerable because we were NOT physically attacked.

Visiting fans also have a responsibility to behave respectfully. Perhaps we were okay because we conversed with nearby Bears fans. We congratulated them and even stayed to applaud your victory during the trophy presentation.

My appeal to ALL sports fans is to be more sportsmanlike. Please exhibit finesse. Unfortunately, unsportsmanlike hooligans exist throughout the league, ie Giants, Eagles, Raiders...
Chicago is better than that!

Congrats and bring it home for the NFC!

Signed,
A "Who Dat" Who really loves Dat Windy City!

Unfortunately there are bad apple in every barrel. Sorry for ours. That was a classy post from a city I always thought of as very cool. Thanks for the words man.
