Sun-Times football expert Mike Mulligan is quoting sources saying the Bears will keep Tank Johnson and perhaps play him in the postseason http://www.suntimes.com/sports/mulligan/177719,CST-SPT-mully19.article. Is that a wise move?

From where I sit business will always take some kind of precedent when it comes to decisions like this. If the BEARS are bumped in the first game of the playoffs there is no second game. The McCaskeys stand to lose millions of dollars and the city stand to lose just as much since they are directly the ones who make money off Soldiers field. That can be a lot of pressure because after the showing on Sunday they need him MUCH more than he needs them. If you cut him he's free to sign with anyone even the Saints or Dallas. The decision could come back to bite you REAL HARD. And REAL SOON. Can you honestly expect the NFL to turn on a guy who can contribute to a team winning football games and maybe championships. If we were talking about Wesley or one those special teams guys then it would be a no-brainer. They would've cut him when the police called for them to turn themselves in. He would had the contents of his locker with him at the police station. Tank has to take the opportunity to get hisself together. Maybe now with his best friend not around to influence him in any way he'll lean or the other upright players we have. If they know what he stand to lose that wouldn't get in trouble with him. Posey didn't know what Tank could lose. He looked at his friend the way a lot of these players look at themselves: untouchable and invincible. Now Tank has an idea of loss and people usually turn things around after a loss. More than anything else maybe he'll make us proud he's a BEAR with better conduct. GO BEARS!!!
After reading some of the articles today regarding Tank Johnson, I couldn't disagree more with the bears organization. By not releasing him immediately they are basically saying that it is ok to do what he has done. I'm a huge bears fan and have been my entire life but this made me sick. The bears only care about winning and that is it. This type of behavior is not acceptable and should not be tolerated. This is not Tank's first time being in trouble with the law. He is a repeat offender and needs to be severly punished. I couldn't disagree more with how this has been handled and let's just hope this won't come back to bite them.
No, it's not a wise move to keep Tank Johnson. But it is what I expected because I think it is obvious that Jerry Angelo & Lovie Smith have shown beyond a doubt that they lack integrity and character. Because Johnson is just the latest of many Bears players to get arrested and Smith and Angelo do nothing about it. Here's hoping the low class Bears get humiliated in their first playoff game, because that might hasten Smith and Angelo's exit out of this city.
He is not guilty of anything. I dont understand why I keep hearing that he should be punished. I think now most people are reacting more to him being at the scene when his friend was killed. Was that the best judgment? No, but I think most people are judging his behavior based on their own personal lifestyle and not that of a young 25 years old millionaire that is accustomed to going out and having a good time and showing off his status. That lifestyle is where Tank Johnson comes from and because it is not like what most bloggers are used to I guess it is wrong. Again he has not been convicted of anything as of yet. I wish the same pre-judging treatment on anyone of the critics who is put in a similar situation. But then again, of course none of them would ever commit a misdemeanor...
The bears made the right decision. Im so happy they decided to keep him and suspend him for one game. Its going to tick alot of writers and commentators off and i love it. he had nothing to do with some idiot who killed his best friend. If the bears would of cut him their would have been two lifes ruined in this mess. Tank got his punishment when his best friend got killed. kf that doesnt humble him and set him straight, then hes just a lost cause. This is his last chance, lets see if the bears made the right decision
Tomorrow's headlines; to use a boxing expression
WE TANKED FOR TANK.
As Vince Lombardi said-
MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING,
IT's THE ONLY THING.
The Mccaskey's should be so
proud!
While Tank is off, perhaps he could make a gangster rap record..and give the money to charity...Kinda like The Super bowl shuffle...Just a thought
I think that Tank learned a lesson. If you want to enjoy the good things in life, you have to walk the straight and narrow. Aside from everything, he is a good football player. I respect Bears management for giving him another chance.
There are two things here that bother me because they run against MY lifestyle: Gun collecting and bar-hopping. But neither of these is a crime, so apart from lousy decision-making, what's Tank done to cause such a hoo-hah by Jennifer K and others who want to "tank" Tank? The Bears swatted his tush with the game suspension and I suspect a real good talking-to.
So let's all get sensible
and put him back in the lineup and win the Super Bowl.
Roman responds: Interesting theory. I'm wondering how Tank and his incident will be perceived if the Bears fall short. Also, I believe his court date for probation violation is before the Bears' first playoff game, and I'm guessing he's going to do some jail time. Just a hunch.
"The Lord loveth the sinner come to his understanding.." Even if Tank were to get jail time, and this IS up to the courts, he would likely appeal and delay his incarceration. Besides, would you be the Judge to sentence him to immediate jail, as the Villagers light the torches and pick up their pikes?
My church members are having a super B. party Sun. I would like a picture of the last two super B. teams for the party. How can I get them?
