What did you think of the win Bears fans?

That win was something else. While the Bills are far from a powerhouse (something I sincerely hope Jauron is able to fix), their defense is quality enough to say today's offensive exhibition was far from expected.

Grossman continues to stand out. I've never liked him (and, barring a Super Bowl win, I won't), but he's doing something special. Staying healthy--that's all Bears fans can ask of him, and we've been fortunate enough to see him take advantage of the best O-Line and defense in the league.

A true, heartfelt "wow" goes out to Rashied Davis and Bernard Berrian. Those two have come from nowhere to develop a rapport with Grossman the likes of which I haven't seen since Favre and Franks, or Aikman and Irvin/Harper. There is no reason why these two should be as effective as they have been, save for the fact that they're true competitors who play smart, solid, and full-throttle.

Kudos to Lovie Smith and the coaching staff, kudos to the always-dominant defense, kudos to Griese, Orton, Benson, Harris, and all the unsung guys on the bench who are just as important as the guys on the field.

For the first time in a long time, the Bears are a complete team. They've given us fans a reason to dream big--so it's best if we just sit back and fasten our seatbelts--it's going to be a hell of a ride.

I don't understand why people continue to say that they don't like Rex (e.g., darryl ehm, mg, etc...). If you're going to say that, you've got to explain why.

HERE, HERE!
I have been confedent from the begining.
Ive whatched our team "BLOSSOM" into what we see before us.Ive waited too long for ANYONE to steal my thunder and will not give one excuse for the way our DEFENCE is playing.
And relish the fact REX G.
is playing the way he is because he has finally answerd all those questions and put to rest all that worried he couldnt do it..Well "HOW YOU LIKE HIM NOW".
And when i hear the last comment of how he looks like a certin Q.B. or campared to anyways.
It will be nice to let him play like we all knew he could. Finally our Defence can rest and SEE the team LOVIE and the rest of the coaching staff has put together.
And Bask in the "CHICAGO BEARS" we see and love RITE NOW.

The Bears hanging 40 on the Bills did not surprise me. I love watching them win. I don't see a team on their schedule that should be favored over them. I can see Leinart looking respectable to pretty good vs. the Bears. The Cards have a history of playing the Bears tough so I hope we don't go to Ariz. and lay an egg.

i declare this team, fundamentally sounder, and deeper, than '85 Bears.

just my opinion. and they should stop knocking angelo ...

i like cedric benson ... you do need two good backs.
again, give him a chance, and he'll break tackles ..

word.

A story book game, keeping Rex safe is a must!, enough offensive weapons to keep defenses on their heels, the contain and crush defense is awesome, 16-0? maybe, but don't make it a goal, one game at a time!

Fun again..just like '85. It's once again a fun day to put on my BEARS STUFF.
It's fun to even venture "outside the house in public" with my BEARS STUFF on without feeling embarrased (like wearing CUBS STUFF). Kudos to all the guys on this years squad. May they remain healthy and continue on to Miami.

Loved it, The Bears have all the qualities and talent to go to the SuperBowl, as long as they keep focused and don't get cocky , and keep playing like every game is precious which indeed it is , and NEVER take ANY team for granite, stay humble and let their play not their words show the BEARS truly are a class act

I'm with a collection of Bears Fans and Chicago transplants living in Los Angeles. Our little Bears bar has of course lived with the mediocrity of Bears past and used to go ballistic over any scoring drive, much less any movment of the chains. Today the bar dispersed somewhat quietly, heads almost hung in shame, and why? Because we allowed a TD. Have we become so spoiled that 40-7 was the cause for alarm? This is truly a beautiful season and when people ask me about next week's score, I have no idea anymore. Is a final score of 49-0 truly that ridiculous? Are the Bears now taking out the Over by themselves? With Indy's paltry win, is there anyone in the league that is even remotely close to us? I do remember another Chicago team that led the league in offense and defense, and at 72 wins and 10 losses, they do hold the best record in their league. 16-0 I know its wrong to say, I know its wrong to expect, but then again, this isn't the Cubs we are talking about, we actually have winners in this franchise!

The 2006 Bears have a chance to do something special! Something us true Bears fans have not seen since 1985. This years version of the Bears can do it all, Defense, Special Teams, and an Offense to seal the deal!
Go Bears!!!! See you in Miami!

What a wonderful sight...every sports show on tv is on the bandwagon..What's even better is getting to see my beloved Bears come into the desert where I have been transplanted and come teach Arizona how this game is supposed to be played...Bear Down!

the answer to the question, YES the bears are for real. 16-0, maybe 19-0. no one else in the nfc, "maybe" one team in the afc. NEXT.

YES, the Bears are for real! Lovie has them focused week to week, as it should be. No swollen heads, all as one - a true TEAM. Let this go forward, sit back and savor this season because this my friends is going to be a work of art in progress, and we who are true blue Bear fans have waited a long time for this to come around again. Bear Down Chicago Bears!

If we can stay healthy --physically and mentally-- I see us not only going to the Super Bowl but WINNING IT!!! OUR GUYS ARE REALLY SOMETHING THIS YEAR!!! GO BEARS!

THE BEARS ARE SUPER BOWL QUALITY NOW CAN WE PAY LOVIE

Living here in LosAngeles,I pretty much the only Bears Fan around.SuperBowl or Bust,, Go Bears...

Comparisons to the '85 Bears team are inevitable in a city that so passionately loves their bears. And while the comparisons are welcome (because that means the bears are finally good again) there is one thing that this team does not have that the '85 Bears team did: Walter Payton. The current team has a good ground game and a better offense in general, but there was never a more beloved Chicago athlete than the late great Walter Payton. Bears fans watched losing team after losing team while Walter Payton carried the team on his back with pride and humility. So when he finally got a chance to win the big game, everybody who was a bears fan (strike that, football fan) felt so good for him to finally have a winning team. No matter how sweet a SuperBowl victory would be this year, it will never meen as much as winning one for sweetness. This seasons for you Walter, We'll try not to let you down

From an ex-Chicagoan, living in Orlando, Florida, all I can say is this, I gotta love 'DA' BEARS!! I do have a very distinctive feeling that they're gonna be WORLD CHAMPIONS this year should everyone stay healthy and intact! I also do think that this team will be similar to the 1985 team that made it to the Superbowl, in which I was still living in the Chicagoland area, particularly in Morton Grove, at that time and I still remember those guys from that '85 team, especially my favorite of all-time, Walter Payton (R.I.P. "SWEETNESS" #34). LOVE YOU GUYS!! GOOD LUCK THE REST OF THE WAY!! AND FINALLY--BEAR DOWN, CHICAGO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!

I was born and raised in Chicago. I moved to Minnesota in 89 chasing my wife. Caught her finally. I have been a Bears fan all my days. It's been hard routing for Da Bears here in Viking land, but I have never wavored. One thing I'm glad for. Bret Farve finally got to old to beatup on My Bears. I however am not to old to see another championship team like the 85 team. Go Bears. I've pulled all my Bears Gear out and washed them and I'm wearing them again. It will happen!!!

im happy for the bears but i also live in arizona the cardinals are trying real hard to get where they need to be so i guess ihave to be like the coffee creamer and be half and half root for both pat jackson phoenix arizona

A Monster has grown in the Midwest...Now the World is hearing it Growl !!

'nuff said' !!

GO BEARS!!

remember MONSTERS OF THE MIDWAY,THEYRE BACK! This time with alittle more speed and insurance. Not life but game day insurance,Rex grossman. The best defense in the NFL nowhas a dance partner, the soon to be nationally recognized best offensive line in the league.Yes Da Bears have a gunslinger, hooraa.Surrounded by dangerous hands and feet.Love it.This is our year, already planing my superbowl party, and I never put my bears gear away.GO GO BEARS.

Love the Bears and the winning. I'm still NOT a Rex fan or Jones fan, but they are doing their jobs and doing it well. It is very difficult 2 beat a pro team by 30 points. What the Bears are doing is amazing really. I hope I don't wake up and this was all a dream.

I had my concerns about the secondary in the beginning of the season. I felt we were suspect concerning the big play but, I have to say The "D" finally looks complete. The tell tale sign is, like I pointed out a few weeks ago, the bears are hitting and hitting hard also they are doing a very good job of tackling. Their D is not complicated but it only works when your fundementally sound and the bears are that and more. A BIG sign was when grossman said they are having fun out there. When the game is fun you will have great success. It's very hard to go undefeated but if the bears stay healthy it could be possible. More importatnly they have control of the NFC and if the NFC championship is played in chicago I don't see anyone stopping them. I think that the loss in the playoffs last year helped this team refocus. They are not running around shooting their mouths off and are much more focused on the task at hand. If they get back to the playoffs I believe that D would be unstoppable and will crush anyone. There biggest challenger, at this point, appears to be the eagles but even they should have loss to dallas. they were given an early x-mas by bledsoe. It's like 85' all over again and I could not be any happier. I'm glad smith was not showing everything in the pre-season and that was the reason grossman was looking pretty bad. At the time I said unless smith was keeping grossmans talent under wraps we needed to start griese. I'm very happy it was just that. I hope grossman can forgive everyone who put him down. I'm sure at the end of the day he could careless what a bunch of fans think but, I'm sure he is enjoying all the excitement the team and fan's are enjoying. The scary part is he and the rest of the team seems to get better each week. I think this is finally our year. GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!

That Bears win last week was awesome I will run out of supurlatives before the season is over. Before I punch the ticket to Miami though the only team that really scares me on the Bears schedule still is the Patriots look what they did to the Bengals a few weeks ago. I picked up Berrien in one of my leagues a few weks ago and won for the first time in a month I just hope that these Chicago Bears of 2006 replicate that success of the 1985 Bears. We've come a long way baby. GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!

What IS this stuff about not liking Rex?!

GROSSMAN IS THE MAN.. end of story!

all of you rex doubters better face reality, he is battling d. mcnabb for nfl mvp, and headed to the pro bowl this season, period

ONE game at a time, every time!

Mg, who are you a fan of, if not Rex? You know Griese fumbled the shut out away?

I had a terrible dream the other night that the Bears lost their next game.

rex grossman is in my opinion in the top five right now for league mvp. i predict between 7-10 guys will make the pro bowl.

I am a Chicago native currently residing in Las Vegas. I have to say that this has been the most entertaining season to watch since '85. That's a long frickin time my friends. I predict the Bears will make the playoffs. (not really going out on much of a limb there). I also predict that the Bears "D" will choke once in the playoffs. Say what? Are you smokin mushrooms? Yeah, that's right I said it. Urlacher and Co. will fold under pressure. Need I remind you of Carolina and Philly (the last two playoff appearances)? The determining factor will be Rex Grossman. He has singlehandedly reversed the fortunes of this organization by his ability to score points. He is, by far, the most important individual on this year's team. Let's all go to church every Sunday and pray that he stays healthy. Go Bearssss!

After many years of getting tormented by family and friends for my never ending love for my bears my beloved bears how after a 5-11 season I got my chicago bears tattoo. After 1999 I had the words "sweetness forever" added to it. I stood tall and ever year procaimed well there's always next year but for this fan who has never been to chicago but been a fan since 1983(i was 8) HOW SWEET IT IS TO SEE DA BEARS playing better than any team in the league and they just might be the best Bears team ever. How sweet it is to be able to watch with a smile from ear to ear. How proud George and Walter must be watching from above DA BEARS!!!!!

Greetings from New Mexico!I love the Bears "D" and "O". It's good to see the Bears kick some butt again. I believe they will make the playoffs and make a serious impact in the postseason. I'm out!

I have had this sensation just once before in my life, 1985. The Bears are scary, to the point of really alienating your non bear-fan friends. All they can do is walk away and mumble. 1963, 1985, 2006, do you see a trend? It's like an earthquake zone. Don't feed the BEARS. See ya in Miami!

Let's get that shut out tommorrow on MNF. I also want to see Urlacher get his first sack, pick, def td, and offensive td all tommorrow night!!!Lets get the win and tell the Cubbies to hurry the heck up and hire Girardi!

I hope that the Arizona game has awakened this Bears team to the fact that they cannot look past ANY team in the NFL. Not to say that the may have gone into this game with a win in the column before they actually played the game, but they definaltely were not awake for most of the game. Maybe it is because the media across the nation has made this Bears team think that since they maybe the best team in the NFL, that other teams should automatically give up when they arrive in town. They may not agree, but they are buying into the hype and needed a douse of reality. Yes they are the best team in Bear fans hearts and maybe in the NFL, but remember that you cannot place a 'W' in the win column until you actually win the game. Forget about what the media is saying about the team, and do yourself and the Bears fans around the world proud

That game last night was noted as the most bizarre game in history. Whatever they may call it, to me it's VICTORY. I do feel sorry for the Cardinals but long live my love for the Chicago Bears. I'm only crazy for football when the Bears are in it. Now that they are on their way to the Superbowl - I'm not letting go. Forever BEARS '85/'06.

I was praying Hester does not get tackled at the 5 yard line, because I was sure the offense would not be able to punch it in from there. The offense was brutal, while Urlacher truly impressed me. He took the team on his shoulders and refused to lose. This game is identical to the game in 1985 when we made a comeback to beat the Vikings in Minnessota. I was half expecting for McMahon to come in the second half and win the game.

Defense and special teams played great. Grossman never showed up...I mean I wish he didn't. Is a 17 efficiency rating some kind of futility record for a quarterback?

Bears got lucky...very lucky. Still look more like a 10-6 team and not a 16-0 team, but should get better and make the second round of the playoffs.

OK, forget about it,maybe.
I always thought Mike Brown to be the MVP of the Bears.
He only succeeds in getting credit when the Bears lose and he wasn't there. (cry after the Panther debacle last year in the Playoffs)

But now he is unable to play. I say you don't win when you loose your top player. Oh yeah, Brian Urlacher can't take double credit, Bears win , he's the Man, they loose ,Mike Brown wasn' around (Mike scored you guys first TD)......."Whose your Daddy Chicago" Catch you in New England.

ps. Those "85" Bears comparisons...FORGET IT!!!
Those guys "KILED" people!
They didn't run like these guys, cause no one ran well after gettin hit by "Mad" Mike Singletary,Wilber Marshall and Otis Wilson and NE should know. Physically that team was much more Dominating and flat out more intimidating!!!

Bears D showed up along with special teams in 2nd half. Grossman simply was gross ! Id worry with Rex's performance vs. cards. He doesn't look like the QB you can trust in what hopefully will be playoffs in a few weeks.

It was the greatest of times and the worst of time all rolled into one.!!! We showed one thing that should make for bigger and better things down the road; we will not go down with out a fight and we will play four quarters. We won a game without even DECENT output from the quarterback or running backs. And while we are on that subject I would like to say that Thomas Jones should be drawn and quartered at High Noon in front of the Wrigley building for his wussy like effort on a little swing pass late in the third quarter/early in the fourth quarter. Grossman threw Jones a pass out in the right flat and Jones just had a dinky cornerback between him and the first down marker. Instead of running over the cornerback, Jones goes with his natural tendency to pussyfoot up to the oppositions tacklers, he tried juking and hucklebutting and lets a little cornerback take him down three yards short of the first down marker. I was embarrassed for him and for the Bears. What a pathetic effort. They showed a brief shot of Grossman right after the play ended and you could see that Grossman was appalled by the terrible display of toughness and simple football instincts.

But back to the main topic. What the victory means is that THE BEARS WON ANOTHER GAME. But, they lost Mike Brown. They showed some big deficiencies in their offensive line, they showed that Grossman is a lot different Q.B. when a team applies heavy pressure. They showed that they are inconsistent with their running game and they showed that they can make some dumb mistakes at critical times.

But, with that being written, they still won the game. How? The Bears defense never quit. The young man returning punts is an incredible talent. The Bears Coaching staff doesn't get flustered and keeps the team playing hard.

All in all, a darn good team that has a good luck charm on. That is a great combination.

As a die-hard Bear fan, I see similarities in the '85 Bears and the '06 team. A dominating defense, a controlled offense that provides the defense enough time to rest and study the opponents offense, a comeback win in the 4th quarter on prime-time television, and the loss of a DB from a freak play (Leslie Frazier/Mike Brown). The '85 team was dominating with there strength and bone-aching hits, but the '06 team is extremely quick, just as good at hardhitting, but this team has a nose for takeaways. They go for the ball and knows how to strip it. Those are the ingredients of a dominating team. It is also the ingredients of a pschological game plan. The '85 team went to the Super Bowl and the '06 team will go as well. Anytime you have a quarterback that gives up that many turnovers by himself and win by defense and special team play, you can't say that was a miracle and/or luck. That was the effort of an overall dominating and focused team that refused to give up. Leinart is going to have success in this league, but he should not put his team on front street with his cockiness. Remember what happened to teams that upset Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and their teammates. 6 Championships.

The Bears' miracle comeback win over the hapless Arizona Cardinals on Monday night reminded me of the Bears' miracle comeback win over the Minnesota Vikings in 1985 during a Thursday Night Football telecast on ABC.

Bears Quarterback Jim McMahon was slated to back up Steve Fuller on that particular evening, as McMahon had missed practice time earlier in the week due to a neck injury that required an overnight hospital stay.

Down by 14 points at the half - and trailing the Vikes 17-9 midway through the third quarter - McMahon finally coerced coach Mike Ditka to put him into the ballgame.

McMahon's first three passes of the evening went for touchdowns - first, to world-class sprinter Willie Gault, for 70 yards; second, to speedy wide receiver Dennis McKinnon for 25 yards; and, finally, to McKinnon again for 43 yards.

Three McMahon passes - three Bears touchdowns.

And the Bears rallied to cruise past the outmanned Vikings 33-24.

That miracle win ALONE gave the '85 Bears the necessary psychological boost that transformed them into one of the greatest football teams in NFL history.

And as I watched This Year's Model rally from an even LARGER deficit against the Cardinals last week, I kept thinking how much THIS Bears team was beginning to remind me of THAT Bears team.

That miracle Monday Night Football win over the Cardinals has already instilled a similar air of invincibility in this year's Bears.

And as a football player, you can't truly believe that your team is unbeatable, unless you rally to victory over an opponent against seemingly overwhelming odds.

So now we can add "been there, done that" to the '06 Bears' resume.

Note: The '06 Bears will never compare to the '85 Bears; but that's asking too much of any NFL team.

That team was the greatest in NFL history. The '85 Bears overpowered their opponents with the most ferocious defense the game has ever seen. You could literally see FEAR in opposing quarterbacks' eyes - right over your TV screen - as heat-seeking linebackers Wilbur Marshall and Otis Wilson prepared to blitz while they BARKED at their intended victims over the line of scrimmage, immediately prior to the snap.

The '85 Bears didn't just beat other teams - they lambasted them.

Still...I can't wait to see what's in store for the '06 Bears during the rest of the season.

Thanks to one miracle comeback victory - and the healthy swagger of invincibility reaped thereby - this team now has "Super Bowl Bound" written all over it.

great win, now they have had two games they should really have lost, to vikes and cards. Everyone thinks this team is really good, they could be but they lack toughness, focus and leadership. Lovie loves his cover 2 and arizona ate it up with a rookie qb, and last year carolina blew it up with one quick receiver. Stubborness and arrogance won't win super bowls. I think the bears would be better off with riviera as coach, but he'll leave and we'll be left with lovie and wondering what happened to the superbowl everyone was expecting.

Good observation Tele.
