I'm sure people who did't like Benson before the game probably hate him, now.Beside the fact he almost got Rex killed by not picking up the blitz in the 2nd quarter.Two TD runs isn't going to cut it,if you are going to lay the ball on the ground and get your QB killed.Everything else went like we expected it to.It would have been nice to have that shutout.Boy,did the D looked Pissed while leading 40-7.I'm sure they are going to be motivated the rest of the season to get that close every time.Now you guys see why Jones is starting.Sometimes you have to do all you can for destiny to find you.And I'm not talking about a stripper from Vegas.Sitting the guy a little more will probably help with destiny.I'm getting a real good feeling about this team.That said,GO BEARS!!

I'll take 5-0 then silly little streaks anyday.Rather win and not look perfect then lose and look good.

I like the way this team is playing right now. Benson's unfortunate fumble cost the Bears the shutout but that doesn't take away from his game today. Scoring his first 2 TDs of his career should show fans that he is going to be a great back. He really hits the hole hard and runs through defenders, something Jones doesn't do. This team is clicking on all cylinders right now. I would hate to be Matt Lienhart next week when he faces this Defense.

You know,he does bring a little something to the offense.But when you can't protect the ball when the game is over how can you be trusted to protect it when the game is on the line.Trust is very hard to come by in the NFL.You've got to raise your game when it matters most.If I'm a little leery how do you think his teammates feel?I don't hate Benson,he's got to show me why he should be considered my favorite back with the BEARS.I'm talking about me the fan.The BEARS can start whomever they like.That's a given.I wanted to be excited by our back.Not hold my breath waiting to see if he's going to pick up another blitz and save Rex or get hit and cough it up.I don't wonder those things about Jones.There have been fast guys who hit the holes hard who fumble way too much to stay on the field.Or in the league.It wasn't just that fumble,he didn't pick up the blitz and got Rex buried.If Rex had been hurt where exactly would we be?Hey,everyone KNEW he was going to get the ball at the end of the game,but he turned it over.That's not acceptable.I can't recall how many fumbles Jones had last year with the BEARS.Someone in the earlier blogs wondered if he was a fumbler.Now I wonder too.It'll change the way he hits the hole.He'll start running more upright and think too much to be affective.Guys who overly protect the ball usually don't run to daylight.They're trying too hard to absorb a hit.Good luck with the ENIGMA for the next couple of games.It was his coming out party,but he turned it into his own nightmare.I am mad about losing the shutout,but I was a little salty about some other thing I had seen during the game as well.He just brought back some bad memories of the last two number 1 backs that we had.Enis and Salaam.I even bought a Salaam jersey.That's how much I liked the guy,at one time.Once bitten,twice shy. I need to have the name replaced,though.But anyway,GREAT game.Everything was great.Except the fumble.How many times have you heard just about everything was great.We've been hearing it a lot with these 2006 BEARS.GO,BEARS!!!

A shut out would have been great but, you cannot blame that fumble entirely on Benson it was not the cleanest hand off ever. The good thing was Benson ran with power and autority he hits the hole like a mac tuck. He will help the bears a lot and it's a joy to watch him have some success.

Frank, I think you can probably hang the fumble on Benson but the D didn't have to break. Urlacher's penalty was very damaging.

I've read in last week newspaper about Grossman making a personal appearance at Whitney Young and Carl Sandburg H.S..He spoke about when you get that "Big" check don't start spending lavishly because you never know what will happen. Invest your money is what he discussed with the students. If Rex decides to do another personal apearance at any of the High Schools this time he should be open to suggestions from the students.The topic being: 6 REASONS WHY I SHOULDN'T THROW THE BALL AIMLESSLY DOWN THE FIELD AND HOW IT COULD AFFECT MY STARTING POSITION AND FUTURE CHECKS!!
