A black twist in the squirrel story

| | Comments (2) | TrackBacks (0)

The squirrel saga will never end. It turns out that now black squirrels (that are really mutant grey squirrels) are pushing out the grey squirrels, just as the greys pushed out the reds.

Check it out.

I don't think I've ever thought so much about squirrel politics as I have since coming to England last September.

England has many animal rights activists and many conservative reactionaries. These groups always battle and I support the animal advocates. No hunting, culling, slaughterhouses or trapping.

Strangely, Toronto's squirrel population is almost exclusively black. And I've seen a few Black ones around certain areas of Chicago, but they certainly don't seem to be overtaking the grey population there.
