Fire captain and holding midfielder Logan Pause is questionable for Saturday's game against the Portland Timbers at Toyota Park with left groin tightness.

Pause initially sustained the injury in the Fire's 2-0 Open Cup win over the Charlotte Eagles and sat out the club's 2-0 win over the D.C. United on Sunday. Pause was only able to participate in Wednesday's practice as a neutral.

"I'm hopeful," Pause said. "We'll see how it responds today and then obviously we have a little bit longer week not having a midweek day off so it allows me two more days--tomorrow and Friday--to see where I'm at."

Over two days, Pause intends on having multiple treatment sessions with the training staff and will evaluate his status with coach Frank Klopas on Friday.

Pause did say that if he is able to play it would not be in a limited capacity and he would be able to play a full 90 minutes should the coaching staff elect to start him.
