The Chicago Fire announced Wednesday that Julian Posada will step down as club president, effective at the end of the year.

Posada will remain with the team as a consultant in 2013. His role will not be replaced.

Fire midfielder Corben Bone has opted out of the 2012 Re-Entry Draft, indicating that he is likely close to signing a deal with the Fire to bring him back to the club for a fourth season.

The 24-year old midfielder played in two games for the Fire this past season. He was selected in the first round by the Fire in 2010.
