The Fire loaned Colombian midfielder Rafael Robayo to Club Deportivo Millonarios, a Categoría Primera A Colombian side, the team announced Thursday.

The 28-year old Robayo joined the Fire on January 9, 2012 after seven years with Millonarios. He appeared in 15 games for the Fire, starting three.

Prior to joining the Fire, Robayo was considered a star on the rise in Colombia. He came to the Firehoping to use MLS to showcase his talents with the ultimate goal of signing with a club in Europe.

Throughout this season, however, Robayo grew upset about his lack of playing time.

"This opportunity allows Rafael to return to his former club," head coach Frank Klopas said in a team statement. "Rafael is a good professional and we wish him the best in his next step."
