Striker Chris Rolfe, who was reacquired by the Fire on Monday, was injured in training on Thursday. The coaching staff is awaiting an evaluation from the medical staff.
Rolfe appeared to injure either his foot or ankle when he planted to take a shot on goal. He walked off under his own power and received treatment immediately after training.
He was selected in the third round of the 2005 MLS SuperDraft by the Fire and scored 40 goals and tallied 20 assists in his first stint with the club.
Blessed with a scorer's touch, Rolfe is expected to add scoring punch to a front line that has struggle to put balls in the net this season.
Head coach Frank Klopas said after Thursday's training session that Rolfe is expected to be on the 18-man roster the club will take to Toronto for its game this Saturday. When Klopas made the statement he had yet to speak to the club's medical staff.
