The Fire will have a second player available to play against England's Manchester United in the Major League Soccer All-Star game July 28 in Houston. Defender Wilman Conde was named a reserve for the MLS All-Stars by coach Bruce Arena.
A member of the MLS Best 11 last season, the Colombia-born Conde joins midfielder Marco Pappa for the Manchester United match. Pappa was the lone Fire player selected as a starter in league-wide fan balloting.
Conde, 26, has steadily blossomed into one of the best defenders in MLS. He joined the Fire in 2007 and made only seven starts that season after arriving in August. He started 19 games and played in 22 in 2008 and started 18 and played in 19 during his Best 11 season of 2009.
Conde's an all-star, too
