Pitching
Felix Hernandez - Mariners
@ Padres
CG, 2 H, 0 ER, 6 K's
Is Hernandez finally fulfilling his enormous potential, or does yesterday's outing say more about the Padres' offense than Hernandez's development? Judging by his recent pitching lines, it looks like Hernandez has turned the corner.
In three starts in this month, Hernandez has two seven inning, one earned run outings under his belt. Add in what he did yesterday and you get a 2-0 record with a .78 ERA in June.
Hernandez is still walking a few too many (his K-BB ratio is only 2:1 this month), but it looks like he's for real. At 23, he's only getting started.

Hitting
2B Ian Kinsler - Rangers
vs. Astros
3-4, 2 HR, 2 RBI, 3 R
Kinsler is having a fine year, to be sure. For a second baseman to be tied for third in the AL in homers is impressive. But before he went down to injury last season, it looked like Kinsler could be an MVP candidate. Maybe that's why his 2009 season seems a little underwhelming so far.
All that's really missing is the batting average, which was at .319 last year and now sits at just .268. Could a performance like yesterday be just what Kinsler needed to get back on track?
