Player of the Night
LeBron James, Cavaliers
vs. New York Knicks
52 points, 10 boards, 11 dimes, 2 blocks
I'm tempted to simply write in whoever is playing against the Knicks on any given night. Fantasy owners love Mike D'Antoni.
More after the jump...
LeBron James would not allow Kobe Bryant to upstage him in the stadium he'll be calling home in 2010. Bryant's unthinkable 61 was certainly a feat, but he did it without grabbing a single rebound. James, on the other hand, dominated in every single facet of the game and left the Madison Square Garden crowd gasping for air.
This is undoubtedly right up there as being nominated for the best single game fantasy performance of the year.
While I'd still take Kobe Bryant on my team over LeBron in real life, there's no question that King James is first off the fantasy draft board from now until he retires.
Already I can't wait for Sunday to watch the two of them square off in Los Angeles.
Stephen Jackson, Warriors
vs. Phoenix Suns
30 points, 11 boards, 10 assists
Al Harrington, Knicks
vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
39 points, 13 boards
Dwayne Wade, Heat
vs. Detroit Pistons
29 points, 7 boards, 13 dimes, 3 steals, 2 blocks, 4-for-9 from deep
Bust of the Night
Ron Artest, Rockets
vs. Memphis Grizzlies
5 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, 1-for-10 from the floor
Owned in 98% of ESPN leagues, Artest has not been able to carve out a niche on the Rockets in his first season with the club. Their lineup is finally back to being full strength and yet Artest hasn't been able to deliver.
Until he finds his rhythm coming off the bench, Artest may need to stay on yours.
