Player of the Night
Dwight Howard, Orlando Magic
vs. Charlotte Bobcats
45 points, 19 boards, 8 blocks
Welcome to the second half of the NBA fantasy season.
And with it comes this monstrous performance by Superman himself, Dwight Howard.
More after the jump...
In the history of the NBA, no player has ever duplicated Howard's stat line from last night. Think about all of the great centers that have played in this league (Shaq, Wilt, Hakeem, etc.) and only then can you begin to realize the potential of this young man.
Howard is sliding up into Top 3 territory in terms of fantasy rankings and if he continues to dominate at such a torrid pace (18 consecutive double-doubles and counting) Howard could make an argument for the top spot.
Top Performers
David West, New Orleans Hornets
vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
37 points, 13 boards, 65% FG
Deron Williams, Utah Jazz
vs. Memphis Grizzlies
20 points, 15 dimes, 2 steals
Lamar Odom, Los Angeles Lakers
vs. Atlanta Hawks
15 points, 20 boards, 5 dimes, 2 steals, 2 blocks
Bust of the Night
Zach Randolph, Los Angeles Clippers
vs. Phoenix Suns
4 points, 2 boards, 1 assist
Late in the first quarter Randolph was ejected for sucker punching the great Louis Amundson of the Suns.
Really? You had to start a fight with a wannabe Scott Pollard?
It's becoming more and more clear that Randolph will forever be a headcase trapped inside the body of a freakishly talented basketball player.
But he's a monster in the fantasy realm and for those of you who were looking for a fast start behind your rotund PF, you're stuck in the mud.
