One of my favorite basketball bloggers is Fanhouse's Tom Ziller. Right before the season started, he ranked the league's 50 best players. Paul came in at #2.
TZ's entire piece on Paul - which puts his greatness at age 22 last season into historical perspective - is a must read. Here's his conclusion:
To claim Greatest Point Guard status, Paul needs to sustain some semblance of his indicated performance.But the seed is without question in place. Paul is such an order of magnitude better than any other point guard in the league and any other point guard we've seen in two decades ... it's simply absurd to deny him the respect and attention he has demanded.
