Can Week Seven's stars keep it going? - The Fantasy Factor

Can Week Seven's stars keep it going?

Our weekly look at the next matchups for last week's highest scoring fantasy players.

Matt Schaub
Week Eight: vs. Cincinnati

After a slow start against a tough schedule, the Texans seem to have gotten it together recent weeks. It all begins with the offense, where Schaub, Andre Johnson and Steve Slaton have all become useful fantasy players. Schaub tore up a weak Detroit secondary last week, and he should be able to roll over the good vibes against the league's other always-defeated team, the Bengals. Schaub looks like a strong start at home this week.

Steven Jackson
Week Eight: at New England

If the Patriots, Jackson's opponent this week, have proven anything this year, it's that they're inconsistent. A week after getting blown out by San Diego (who subsequently got owned by the Bills last week), the Pats regained form at home last week against the Broncos. Jackson will be started in most league anyway because of his lofty draft status, and owners have to be happy that new coach Jim Haslett is feeding him the rock more. Don't expect three touchdowns this week, but Jackson should get enough touches to make an impact on your fantasy team.

Calvin Johnson
Week Eight: Washington

Calvin Johnson is a beast. Fantasy owners know as much. But it's hard for me to recommend a receiver who's quarterback is Dan Orlovsky. Don't forget that Johnson's touchdown came on a 96-yard reception. Without that catch, Johnson's Sunday wouldn't have been so impressive by fantasy standards. If you're thin at receiver, go with Johnson, but there are better options elsewhere.
