The Fantasy Factor

Week 1: Start or Sit

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)

Today marks the first release of our start or sit column, where we take an in-depth look at the games slated for this weekend and give you an idea of who we think is going to shine and who is going to bomb.

I'm not going to tell you that you need to start Tom Brady or Adrian Peterson because I really shouldn't have to. Even if I told you to bench Tom Brady this weekend you'd be absolutely mental to do so and probably wouldn't anyway.

Every Thursday we'll have the start and sit column available so you'll always be prepared heading into the weekend.

If you have any questions about your lineup, send me an email at molsen@chicagosuntimes.com and between Ricky and myself we'll do the best we can to help you out.

Otherwise, good luck this weekend.

Giants vs. Redskins: Who do you start?

Because of the short week we'll start our analysis of this week's games a little early.

We'll preview the rest of the games for you on Friday and you can expect a Start or Sit column tomorrow to help you make those tough roster decisions.

But whether you're ready or not, FOOTBALL STARTS TOMORROW and you better be ready because the fantasy season is about to kick into high gear.

Opening Night Matchup Analysis

Redskins at Giants, 7 p.m.

Rudi Johnson's departure from the Bengals was no surprise. He was owed a hefty amount of money, and Cincinnati's ground game was fine without him last year. But that doesn't mean he still can't be a productive NFL back, given the right system.

Johnson got the opportunity he was looking for yesterday when he was signed by the Detroit Lions. He'll team up with second round rookie Kevin Smith in the backfield.

Player rankings - Wide Receivers

One of the most crucial components of making sure your fantasy football draft is as successful as possible is your player rankings.

They'll help you make those tough decisions from the first few rounds up until the very end. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder so it's very unlikely you'll find too many rankings on line that are completely the same.

So with that in mind, to make things easier, we've broken them down for you into tiers. The players are separated into groups based upon their overall fantasy production, potential, past performances, injuries and how we think they'll fare in 2008.

Players are listed in alphabetical order
