What is it about forklifts that's so funny?
¶
I think maybe it's because they look and feel lame-assed. Driving
one is like steering a bicycle with perpendicular wheels.
This was taken by a security camera in a Moscow warehouse
containing cognac and vodka.

We like awkward things, I guess. Babies teetering as they walk, strange looking cars. Forklifts often look about ready to tip over, so I guess they're appealing to that side of the brain.
Of course, when you get buried in cases of alcohol because the things are so awkward to control, they might be less funny.
They've got the pitiful charm of the small car, seem too top-heavy, you need a special license to drive them, and yet they have a threatening prong in front.
What is unequivocally funny is the image of a bicycle with perpendicular wheels :)
I can only hope that the fork-lift operator (can't quite call him the driver...) was humming the old Limelighter's tune, "Proschai, Proschai", to himself as he backed into the stacked cases of liquor.
