The 25 best Michael Jackson FlashMob tributes, and the viral
video from Stockholm that spread the original idea
I started surfing and couldn't stop. One thing I noticed is that you can't be sure from the clothing where
in the world you are. I also noticed that the way the crowds collected everywhere was suggested by the original video. A dramatic demonstration of the reach of the web.

Hi, Roger:
The date stamp on the first video is May 30, 2009. Michael Jackson died on June 25, so I don't think it was filmed ten hours after his death.
Ebert: True, but the info with the clip supplies that information, and if their camera's date stamps are like mine, they forget what date it is every time the battery dies.
That T-Mobile ad is one of my favorites, but flash mobs have been around longer than the ad and like all good ads borrow from life. Thanks for compiling this list, I hadn't seen a couple of the MJ tributes.
Ebert: I realized that belatedly. In adding an additional 20 videos, I removed it and gave tribute to Bounce from Sweden for specifically calling for the FlashMob tributes.
please correct, the capitol of hungary is budapest, not bucurest...
Ebert: I know, and a magnificent and friendly city it is. I spent a week there a few years ago. All it takes is a letter or two wrong, and spell checker double-crosses you.
So many! If I were to choose just one to watch, which would you suggest, Roger?
Ebert: Don't want to play favorites.
Here's a funny thing. A tweeted two pages today, this one and "The Funniest YouTube video," here:
http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/the-funniest-youtuve-ive-seen.html
The video drew 32,169 visits. Michael, 549. Maybe MJ fans don't Twitter? Naw, that can't be it.
I must say I love the first one the most.
I'm trying to think of the worst day I've had in my life and how it wouldn't have been as bad had I'd been walking in the street and suddenly five-hundred people started dancing around me to the sound of "Billie Jean" or something.
Had they literally lit up the floor, I could've died right there.
Long live the King.
Having a finite lifespan (unfortunately), and having practically unlimited amounts of content to experience, how do people choose their path through the day? For this kind of content, Ebert's recommendations are a valuable filtering tool, but even then, the time investment to view 25 videos is a bit much.
Perhaps the top 5 videos would get a better response.
Ebert: And that would have saved me a heck of a lot of time. I got carried away.
