As read and illustrated by Tom O'Bedlam at Spoken Verse. This is one of my daily stops on the internet. I get lost. His voice is melodious yet grave. He reminds me that poems are really not intended to be read, but heard.

Frank Jacobs, the brilliant poet laureate of Mad Magazine. His movie musical parodies were an essential element of my youth ("Godfather, Godfather, we show respect / We kiss your ring / We genuflect").
Frank Jacobs' concoctions are, or were, headed "Frank on a Roll Dept." in the priceless heyday of MAD Magazine. Mr. Jacobs has the poetic equivalent of perfect pitch, and rivals Algernon Swinburne himself for metronomic meter. Amazing as "Hollywood Jabberwocky" is, I'm guessing he knocked it out in half an hour or so.
