Oprah remembers our first date

When Oprah Winfrey announced her future plans for her famous program, I was contacted for interviews -- because I was there on what her own web site calls "Oprah's Date with Destiny." .Here's a video clip of us on her 20th Anniversary show.

In my story today, I suggested Oprah has privately anointed Ellen DeGeneres as her heir. Here's Ellen, after a taping of her own show today (11/20), chatting with her audience about Oprah's decision.

Just love to read anything about your life- spent a week in Chicago in the fall of 1981 ad had spent a month in the surbs for August 1975 so feel like I have a sense of your city. You are right-every movies that youwords give a golden stamp to I most usually see-or recommend to friends.
I live in Toronto after growing up in Buffalo-so I have dual citizen . I can not tell you how wonderful your journal is to me. I have thought a lot of you especially the last 2 weeks as our dear Friend who was 44 and never spoke a word all of her life died suddenly. She was a pioneer in the use of bliss symbols, then the computer, and then the voice generated computer-it was controlled by the back of her head-the only part that made it able for her to communicate with us-I thought about your comments about people on Oprah and how your illness changed your feelings about others.
As a teacher, then a Chaplain for over another 30 years I met the most incredible people ever! Iknow you realize what a jewel your Wife is to you-please take my best wishes for you both.
I would love to meet you sometime you are in town for TIFF- I have never gone and do not live too far away but am sure you are well takrn care of. My Daughter sends her regards as well.
