Sweet Dreams, Baby: For Patsy Cline

Patsy Cline was born Sept. 8, 1932. Looking at her in this live footage, I'm struck by how she lacks showbiz affectations. Her dresses were what ordinary women would wear. Her hair was conventional. She just stands there pleasantly, almost politely, and sings. She could sing just like this in church on Sunday, Maybe not all the same songs,

You're a pal, Rodge. I'll watch 'em all repeatedly.

Patsy... I covered "Crazy"on my cd. Go listen to it again!

She had an amazing and classic voice no matter what she wore.

What a treasure trove you have bestowed upon us!

Thank you very much.

Thanks for this remembrance. It brings fond memories of my mom playing Patsy's songs on the record player and singing along as she ironed our clothes. Patsy had a beautiful voice. So nice to hear these songs again. I still have the words memorized!

Always loved her. And a great way to teach English diction.

one of my fav movies of all time. She was a hard working woman trying to make life better for her & family. But the same ole story her man was working against her & not with her.She worked ,he played.

I took me way too long to appreciate this classic voice. I am brought to tears when I listen to her. A voice so pure, sweet, and emotionally charged, Patsy Cline has no equal on this earth. She's coaching the angels in Heaven - right now! Glorious!
