Well I was born in Afghanistan, but left when I was 6. Went back after 23 years for a vacation. The men ruled it. Women not so much. I complained "This is the land of men!!" Family friends said "There is no real men here, so no they don't"

Now in Saudi Arabia the woman is fighting to drive. I mean seriously the time of Prophet Muhammad, woman were on camels leading the war. WTF happened? It's supposed to be the other way around.

I never listened to Beyounce. I don't like her body flaunting like a stripper. It's not called dancing, it's called flaunting. She may have a great voice, but her flaunting is not art. Maybe it's just me.

Beyounce can sing about ruling the world, but not through a bad song or sexy dancing. That's the opposite. Giving men your flaunting sexy strip dancing body is not power.

It's just a song everyone. Lighten up.

Beyonce runs her own world and this proves she's far removed from the reality of most women who live without her substantial means and all the perks and privileges of celebrity. She may be a hard worker but she's also insulated and evidently, a spoiled diva.
Also, her new song 'Move Your Body' complete with choreography, sold to schools across the US as a fitness anthem, contains dance moves that are utterly inappropriate for the young girls she's pitching it to (who are already encouraged to bump and grind too early IMHO). I'm no prude but I was dismayed to see the First Lady encourage this campaign with her White House endorsement.

Hard not to agree with the truth, well done, the young Woman speaking will be going places. She's got what it takes to suceed. She won My vote.

This young woman is a humorless buzzkill, as are most liberals.

Please. It's a song. Mostly it's an excuse for an elaborate Beyonce-style dance routine. Did you see that sexy dance army that Beyonce brought to the Billboard awards last night? Yeow!

Which video do I want to spend 4 minutes watching: Beyonce, or young lady buzzkill? No question.

Great picture of Beyonce, by the way.

Gotta love it when uberfeminists and victim-players turn on each other.

Beyonce pops, but this passionately intelligent young woman ROCKS!

I agree what everything she said.

In addition to the bullshit about women, I hate songs like this that use shitty English intentionally, as if that's cool.

And this is what all women should be concerned about, after all - whether Randy Masters would rather watch them than Beyonce and whether Randy Masters thinks they're a buzzkill for not satisfying his demand to dance for him like circus bears 24/7, and whether they are generally living up to Randy Masters' personal self-serving standards for women.

Let's not forget what's really important here: whether you're making it a little bit easier for a random armchair warrior on the internet to pleasure himself in his mom's basement.

This young woman is articulate, has clarity, conviction, and most importantly, she has expressed herself in a way that is active. She has something to say—and she offers a way of making things better. This is only achievable when people care about each other and act on that desire.

It's good to see that the message wasn't lost on Sam, deep thinker that he is. I saw the message as being about women everywhere and how the world needs to evolve in such a way as to give them the respect and rights that they deserve. I say, "the world" because it, at least in my mind, it is not an issue that hinges upon geographic considerations or merely upon the attitudes of men. It's important for womanhood to be respected, as in the way that one stands up when a judge enters a courtroom. We aren't necessarily showing respect for the individual but we are showing respect for the office.

On the email service that I have, there are emotional appeals to people that involve "the cruel art of bear dancing." I'm not making this up. It reminds me of the scene in the Steve Martin movie "The Jerk" where, after he comes into some money, someone attempts to ease him of some of it by appealing to his emotions and contribute the prohibition of "Cat Juggling."

We have a Secretary of State who has throughout her life stood up for the rights of women. Hillary's Valedictorian speech was about the rights of women, and she has consistently sought to do something about it. She's in a position to make a difference. Yet, we all are, even if in a small way—as this young woman shows.

While it is true that animal cruelty is despicable and needs addressing, it's more important to remember the dispossessed and voiceless victims worldwide. I saw a video just last night about the young girls in Bangladesh who are victims of vicious acid attacks. It's an increasing trend and no one seems to want to do anything about it—especially the police in Bangladesh. (So what can I do about it? I can do something. Not as noteworthy or as admirable as what the young woman who made that video has done, but something. Writing this, for instance.)

I think we are responsible in some small way for the world that we live in being as it is. The world changes one person at a time, and only through people caring about and respecting each other.

Here's the video that I saw. One should consider it—and what one might do to help these people—in lieu of eradicating "cat juggling."
Warning: there are images in this that are disturbing. Fortunately for us we can look away. Not so for the young girls.

"Humorless buzzkill," Randy? The subject matter included infanticide, selective abortion, domestic violence and rape. Don't think it needed any punching up with jokes.

She's direct, well organized, substantive, intense, and, like the best type of slam poetry, lean and mean with her words. If you webcammed your response word for word you'd embarrass yourself. Her facts vs. your "Yeow!"--be thankful you didn't.

I might owe Marie Haws an apology. I gave her some crap about saying similar things to what this convincing young woman says.

--Yep. Sorry, Marie! I was wrong.

It's hard to take this seriously or pay attention to this girl's message because of the way the video was edited. It's very distracting and better suited for a video where one is talking about the Desperate Housewives finale or your celebrity crushes. I made it about 90 seconds through.

While I don't disagree with her message, I find this girl and the video to be annoying. Breathe, slow down, speak in complete & unedited sentences and breathe. And cock fighting should be a misdemeanor or maybe just a fix-it ticket.

The young woman makes great arguments, but it seems pretty absurd to use Beyonce's music video to make a point. It wasn't intended to be social commentary or anything meant for critical analysis of social issues... it was a cheesy music video meant for entertainment and nothing more. I highly doubt Beyonce herself believes woman hold power in this world over men or that they run the world. There's no reason to use Beyonce's music video as a starting off point for this type of argument, it'd be like using the movie Rambo to make some kind of statement about the current state of war we are in.

rock on. For once an intelligent rant.

I've never been a huge fan of Beyonce. While this woman's video can be viewed as buzzkill of sorts, it's a buzz that needs to be killed because it's crap. Kids shouldn't be learning these sort of lessons from music, it'll just confuse them.

Amen to this. And particularly in re the comments on women "freakin' it": I will say this until I die...."Women are so stupid, they're doin' it to themselves" by which I mean that strippers, whores, and porn stars make ALL women look bad by association due to objectification, catering to men’s fantasies, and desensitizing society to the fact that men STILL use women, all the time, and they won’t stop unless WOMEN quit stooping to exploitation. “Empowering” oneself does not happen by pole-dancing for tips, it does not happen when stripping for a paycheck, and it does not happen by sex acts for the camera. True Empowerment is a process where one ascends & actualizes to be the best one can be, vis-à-vis intellect, talent, hard work and self-respect. Women overall could take a lesson from Lysistrata and withhold sex until we get what we deserve: equality, fair pay, full rights and the same dignity afforded to men. How I wish this could be, except for the beatings, humiliation, degradation, abandonment, and violence that would result at the HANDS OF MEN if women were to deny them the only thing they seem to want from us anymore. After all - with all the porn out there, who needs a wife? Who needs a mother to children? Who needs to feel valued or fulfilled by taking care of a family? Certainly not the majority of men (and this is borne out by sociological statistics). I fear for our daughters now more than ever. Porn is making the world a far less healthy place, and it’s doing grave injustice to women and children – and also men – by turning women & children into objects and afterthoughts as men become increasingly addicted to cybersex while losing the ability to participate, and stay engaged, in actual long-term meaningful relationships. Women run the world, indeed…we could if we were given the chance, but as it stands now – not the case.

Hahaha. Amazing! This is great social commentary and it made me laugh. I totally didn't think she would be smart, the male bias section of my brain has been taken down a notch.

Funny the men are the ones dismissing the video; she's just a girl, she can't edit, it's just a song, chill out, baby, it ain't so bad, you sittin' on a goldmine, etc. It's pretty easy to patronize and shrug off something when you are not the victim.

I was like that before the OJ trial; I thought blacks were just whining because they had all the rights I did, if not more, since I'm female. But during the trial quite a few of my white friends revealed a deep seated racism that I had no idea existed, and I realized that blacks had to live with that every day of their lives, that their very existence had to be shaped by that "secret" view of them. If not for that, I wouldn't understand why so many Republicans hate Obama.

Beyonce isn't preaching, though; she is simply reflecting propaganda that must be fed to women to keep them from sharpening the axe and waiting until their husband goes to sleep. Why do you think so many women in this country live on Prozac, or other antidepressants? Doctors have found ways to shut them up with medication. This video girl looks like anyone else screaming WAKE UP! She's pissed off, frustrated, but still young enough to be hopeful that her message is heard. But you can see from the comments that men will just find a way to cover their ears and dismiss her--the way men explain to women how it feels to have an abortion, or why they should be happy for all they are "given." Just more evidence that everything is geared towards the twelve year old male mentality; that is the common standard in our society today.

And hey, be grateful for Randy Masters, because he's the kind of man who proves the girl's point. Male center of universe disapproves if woman speaks up. QED; He demonstrates in action what she posits in theory.
