congrats!

Well done, sir.

You are very good at this--have you ever thought of becoming a writer? Congratulations, Roger!

p.s. Hope everyone has a blast at Ebertfest. Middle-class poverty prevents me from attending. Snf.

Seems like a good line on your resume.

Congrats. Mr. Ebert :)

It's always good to finally see a goal realized. I must confess that I didn't think you had any professional goals yet to conquer, that you had managed to accomplish everything you wanted to do in print. I should have known better.

Best wishes to you, sir.

Congratulations! How wonderful too see someone I consider a major celebrity to get excited over winning a contest. Thanks for sharing with your fans

And on a challengingly weird cartoon, too.

Well done! I guess there's hope for all of us; perhaps I will keep at it after all.

Perseverant wit and abiding aplomb separate you from the Flashes in the Pan. Congratulations!!

Henny would be proud of you.

Congratulations. I am, as you wrote on your Facebook page, the "man in Chicago who has won four times," but I have no doubt you'll eventually beat my record.

Ebert: That's funny. I have a lot of doubt.

The other two didn't stand a chance, but yours was the best of the 3, anyway.

Roger, I'm actually excited for you. Great line too. Given the odds of winning, this accomplishment might have to rest front and center in the trophy case. Really cool.

"New Yorker Caption Contest Winner" is going to appear before "Pulitzer Prize Winner" in you obituary, isn't it.

Congrats good, sir! I liked your other captions too: http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/cartoonists/2011/04/roger-ebert-wins-the-cartoon-caption-contest.html

Is the word 'Fuck' ? It seems like the word is probably 'Fuck'.

Woohoo!!!

FINALLY!

So which is better - winning the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest or a Pulitzer? As I seem to recall (according to Gene Siskel) that the Pulitzer was addressed to "occupant" whereas I can clearly see your name attached to the cartoon. :-)

Very happy for you. About time.

i don't get it.

I am going to say the word I'm thinking of: way to go!

Lucky for you the letter was an F :)

Congrats are in order! Very funny!

Ha! That's great.

Roger,
I love it! Congradulations!!!

Ian

Sorry, Roger, but the 2nd place caption is funnier.

Well done! Your monster truck & tray table captions are hilarious too! Wouldn't it be fun to see the captions that didn't get past the Board of Censors?

Congratulations.

You captured the subtle wit that the New Yorker was looking for.

The first one was difficult. The next five should be easier.
