That sounds a lot like my mother in law's recipe. Who knew?

this belongs in the "Gee, That Food Looks Terrible" flickr pool:

Miss Monroe didn't have the best penmanship...

I love how "heart" shows more bold than all the rest of the words. "Heart- then chop". Metaphorical for her personal life, where it was probably her heart that was broken too often. This recipe may be more straightforward than her diaries, but then again cooking usually is more straightforward than the human psyche. Usually, that is. The Pot knows.

Ditto @Patricia, both my mom and Oma had a very similar recipe

Norma Jeane Baker and Myra Jeanne Ewing were born in the same week and died just months apart. They both liked to use French bread for their dressing. Myra Jeanne was my mother. Who'd a thunk it...

Rose Marie should be pleased to read how Marilyn Monroe(1954 San Francisco)considered her to be spicy!
Half portions of MM's stuffing ingredients are now simmering in our Pot. In lieu of the garlic, we use HERB Caen... mmm...

it looks like something is written on the back of that sheet... possibly her brussels sprout recipe?

i can't read what comes after 'following spices - put in' then something marie? what could that be?
this is a very rich stuffing, reminds me of an italian stuffing for veal breast, and this would make a huge amount, must be for a 20+ pound turkey!

i really love this. Thanks for posting it. It makes her human.

One of our all time great artists. I love you forever MM.

She was just a sweet lost insecure child, caught up in this huge make-believe world of Movieland. She was the fantasy ditzy sex symbol to many, but all she wanted was to settle down as be a good wife to someone who would love her for her inner self. Poor Marilyn.

I believe MM meant the herb "rosemary".

French bread soaked in water - wring out??? lol. I love recipes that are jotted down on spare paper.

nice...who owns it?
