"Chicago Tonight" looks at the promoter's ordinance; meetings taking place today in the final hours before a vote
WTTW-Ch. 11's "Chicago Tonight" has scheduled a panel discussion about the promoter's ordinance tonight. The show airs at 7 p.m., and given that timing, it may wind up being the last public discussion about the law before it is approved by the City Council tomorrow.
Meanwhile, music community activists are meeting with aldermen and city officials today in the hopes of convincing them to table the vote until further work can be done on the ordinance and more feedback can be heard from Chicagoans.

I think that yall should save our city of chicago and our music venue. because its important to us to have a place where we can see good music and good artists peform at the double door or all venues in the city of chicago. i think its not right to take it away. save our city of chicago and our clubs and our venues to see these musicians

I saw the Chicago Tonight show and it confirmed my worst fears: that the aldermen (as represented by Mr. Cardenas) have no clue as to what they are supporting in this issue. That they are going to "fine-tune" the ordinance does not give me much hope.
I thought you did a great job on the show, Jim.
