The God's honest truth or just another red, white and untrue 'patriotic' hoax? YOU make the call
Before we move on to other more worthy issues, or at least more interesting, I promised to announce the recipient of that $25 gas card for, well, you know. The reader's name is Carrie L., of Chesterton, who had no problem infiltrating the aforementioned "town without a welcome mat."
So, with that bit of blog-housekeeping out of the way, let's move onto a new "Observations from the Edge" entry with much broader ramifications.
Riddle me this, blog readers: Is Barack Obama a radical Muslim extremist in disguise who...
once refused to use the holy Bible when he was sworn in as U.S. senator, instead insisting on placing his hand over the Koran? And who refuses to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, and who routinely turns his back to the U.S. flag during the singing of the National Anthem?
Huh? What? A legitimate presidential contender who dares to be so blatantly unpatriotic?! YES, according to a forwarded email I received Monday that's making its way to American voters in cyberspace.
As the email warns in BIG BOLD PRINT: "Would you want this man leading our country? The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the U.S. from the inside out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the President of the United States, with one of their own !!!! Please forward to everyone you know."
So, is this email the God's honest truth or just another red, white, and untrue urban myth hoax? You tell me today, or I'll tell you on Wednesday. Stay tuned. I'm here.

Hey, JD, cute stuff on Dune Acres. The Boothe's have been blamned since the late sixties I believe. For two decades we used one of their names half the time to get in anyway.
Like Lauren, I have never posted to a blog, but am a fan of yours, so will join this century.
The above story about Barack Obabma sickened me. Can anyone say Dunkin Donuts forward - totally untrue. What really saddens me is that there are enough morons out there to believe that blather. I sometimes wonder how people can be that stupid, but heck, look we elected the last two times!
Keep up the good work, I still say you deserve a raise!

I have to agree that Dune Acres is a little too private for my tasts, I've had similar experiences.
As for Obama, I think he's a deist who sounds a lot like a southern baptist preacher. I don't think he cares where his god resides, but he's glad to have a god to use for political purposes.

On Barack...I received that e-mail from my sister, who is very
into politics. I thought it was far-fetched. But am I voting for him? No...with or without Hillary, whom I would NEVER vote for.
