Soriano's on fire

| 10 Comments | No TrackBacks

I remember when some people thought the Cubs were better off offensively when Alfonso Soriano was on the disabled list.

Well, he's back, and he's warmed up.

Not only did he hit another leadoff home run, but he added a three-run homer in the second.

Who cares about Soriano? Who did the flubs beat today? Real hard schedule.

The Flubs are the real Chicago embrassment. No World Series in over 100 years. Losers just like their own fans.

Good News: he is HOT AND there were actually people on base in the second (not typical for Sori's HR's)

Bad News: he struck out the other two AB's and he's still lost a solid step or two (did you notice him gimp around 3rd yesterday?)

I STILL think he needs to drop to 5th. Theoretically, there will be more people on base to drive in w/his power & if he doesn't get the job done, Soto's there to pick him up (FYI, megastar in the making!!!). I like Soriano, I'm glad he's a Cub & I hope he hits 30 HR's again this year, but he could only get 75-80 RBI instead of 100-110 batting 5th.

Here's your championship lineup:
1. Theriot
2. Fukudome
3. Lee
4. Ramirez
5. Soriano
6. Soto
7. DeRosa
8. Johnson
9. P

When Edmonds plays CF, put him 6, drop Soto & DeRosa down. This gets you speed at the top, power in the middle & consistency near the bottom.

That's my two cents.

REMEMBER SORIANO IS A VERY GOOD BASEBALL PLAYER WHO FEELS MORE
COMFORTABLE LEADING OFF, I KNOW CUB FANS YOU WANT A TABLE-SETTER,
BUT SORIANO IN THE LEAD-OFF SPOT, GIVES THE OTHER PLAYERS BETTER
PITCHES TO HIT!

The whole team is red hot.
I don't think I've ever seen a Cubs team like this in my lifetime.
Feels awesome.
If we can keep this up, the sky's the limit.
GO CUBS!!!

all you fickle cubs fans, please send your apologies to Soriano here......

THIS MAN IS BLESSED WITH ALOT OF TALENT, I THINK HIS PROBLEM IS
THAT HE DOESN'T WORK HARD ON KEEPING HIS LEGS IN SHAPE, DURING
THE OFF-SEASON, JUST MY OPINION!
TO ALL THE CUB FANS, THIS IS THE MAN PERFECTLY BUILT FOR THE LEAD
OFF JOB, HE IS COMFORTABLE LEADING OFF, THE DAYS OF THE TABLE-
SETTER FOR THE CUBS IS OVER, THIS IS OUR LEAD-OFF MAN, HE IS A
REALLY GOOD PLAYER, HE MAKES THE OTHER GUYS GET BETTER PITCHES TO
HIT!

Lou blou this one today. Z was done in the 3rd inning but Lou left him in to try to stretch him to the 5th. When a guy walks the opposing pitcher on 4 pitches, you go get him. Then in the name of all that's holy, with Lieber cruising on 3 k's in the 8th and the game tied, why take him out till we get the lead? My God man, are you daft?

OK, way to go, Alfonso! But on another note. What do you get when you give a man/child with a 9th grade education millions of dollars? A crybaby by the name of Zambrano. Mr. Pinella had to bite his tongue off to keep from thrashing the 250 pound Baby Huey. As I had said before the season, at the end of last season, and at the beginning of last season. If the Cubs are serious about contending, trade this idiot...No one is worth that kind of money.

TWO MORE HOMERUNS YESTERDAY, THE MAN IS A BEAST!
JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE, THIS MIGHT BE HIS BREAKOUT YEAR WITH THE
CUBBIES!
IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A BLESSING IN DISGUISE FOR HIM TO GET INJURED
EARLY IN THE SEASON, REMEMBER LAST SEASON WHEN HE WAS INJURED
IT WAS LATE IN THE SEASON, I DON'T THINK HE REALLY EVER REBOUNDED
FROM THAT INJURY, NOW HE IS ON FIRE, LOOK FOR SORIANO TO SOAR
LIKE AN EAGLE WITH THE CHAMPIONSHIP CUBS!

Cut Carols 'Crybaby' Zambrano. Now, before it's too late...
