Latest on Edmonds
All indications are that Jim Edmonds won't be officially a member of the Cubs until after tonight's game.
At that point, the club is expected to announce the signing of Edmonds and the assigning of Felix Pie to Class AAA Iowa.
As of early Tuesday afternoon, Edmonds is not in Chicago. But he may be in a Cubs uniform by Thursday's series finale against the Padres.

Why not give the young man a chance. Edmonds is going to come here and he is not going to do much better. The ruin more prospects that way. You pump them up give 50 at bats and then sit them because they only had 10 hits. What a crock of YA YA.
It is a regular pattern that they go and get the most washed up guy they could find instead of giving Pie a chance to hit. He's batting in fron of the pitcher and rarely sees a pitch that you anyone could handle, Put D. Leee ther and see how well he hits.
I am really frustrated with this boneheaded decision. Our team is hitting well enough to take a chance on Pie.

Way to go, Mr. Hendry. I hope Jim Edmunds understands Cub-Dumb.
If the get to the playoffs, and he hits .280 with 15 homers the rest of the year, the fans will ride him out of town on a rail...
Hmmmmm, Maybe not. I forgot when Dave Kingman was signed in 1978. He was loved by the fans, even though he played for San Diego, San Francisco, and NY Mets......The fans at the worlds biggest bar at 1060 W. Addison will be crying in their beer by September 15th, I fear...

The sheer, quiet presence of Jim Edmonds will inspire others to play better than they thought they could play, and with him in the lineup,the cubs will become winners.
