I'd like to start off today saying morning to Oak Park residents Stephen Tyma, Loraine Brzozowski-Tyma and Marsha Borders.
I'm praying all the way from London that when you walk out of your house, a flock of birds do their business on your heads because that's what you are trying to do to the student-athletes at Oak Park.
If that happens, then it will be more than just "morning" - it will be a GOOD morning for you three selfish idiots. The Village of Oak Park and Oak Park High School officials may not be able to say it, but I will - you are the three clueless stooges.
Stephen, Loraine and Marsha Marsha - aka Moe, Larry and Curley - filed a lawsuit to have Oak Park remove its new stadium lights or be required to better mitigate the noise and light they say is negatively impacting the neighborhood.
Where's that IHSA Get-A-Clue mascot when I need it?
Oak Park already has to be off the field by 8 p.m. during the week and can only have so many night games on Fridays and Saturdays. I thought the Public League soccer administration was the clueless king of Chicago, but this trio is up for the 2009 honor.
The lights were installed this summer after a years-long battle between the school and neighbors. Moe, Larry and Curley from the 18th century have said it would bring noise, traffic and bright lights to a historic area that was quiet in the evenings after school was out.
EARTH TO STEPHEN, LORAINE AND MARSHA MARSHA - THIS IS A SCHOOL, NOT A LIBRARY. I didn't know people in Oak Park can't do anything after dark.
Sadly, the suit says homes are closer to Oak Park's stadium than most others, and it seeks an injunction prohibiting the use of the stadium for evening activities. Can I remind the stooges of a stadium called Wrigley Field?
I believe in an athletic facility where tax-paying students can have the same opportunities that thousands of others have throughout the Chicago area and in this country. But in Oak Park, the three stooges are trying to crap on innocent kids.
I'm just asking for a little common sense. Come on Stephen, Loraine and Marsha Marsha - I'm not asking for world peace.
And if life is so tough for these three, let me be the first to make an offer to them.
Hey Marsha Marsha - I'll buy your house off of you for the same price you paid for it. Then you can move to a quiet spot, maybe like a van down by the river.
But for some reason, I have a feeling she won't take me up on that offer.
- Joe Trost

Obviously these idiots don't have any kids who are student athletes .
Move away to a quieter area then.
These must be the same people who run the trick-or-treaters off.
Go get 'em , Joe
Joe,
All of the old-line, in-town, schools have or will have this become an issue. Schools like Oak Park-River Forest are land locked. Same thing with Glenbard West. They don't have 20-30 acres of open land around the school to provide for practice fields on top of their home fields.
To make the best use of the land OP-RF,and schools like it, has to put in artificial turf and/or lights. That gives the teams the practice/game sites they need for football, soccer, lacrosse, marching band etc. at somewhat reasonable cost.
It is financially unreasonable for OP-RF to buy enough land in Oak Park, around the school, to provide an adequate buffer to the noise, lights, and parking that they complain about.
Schools are there to serve the entire community and do a very good job of being good neighbors. Perhaps these neighbors need to get a change of perspective and become good neighbors to the school.
If you don't like the water, don't buy a house on the river. I will never understand how people will live near the airport and complain about the noise. They will buy a house next door to the fire department and complain about the sirens. They have bought houses next to the water treatment plants and complained about the smell.
I do not listen to the complaining and I hope the powers that are in charge do not as well.
It sounds like an Oak Park lawyer and his wife trying to make a name for themselves by taking on the school district. This is the stuff that gives lawyers a bad reputation!
