After years of living in the stone age, the Oak Park Village Board finally gave approval for lights on Monday by a 7-0 decision. This ongoing debate was fueled by residents around the school who said their quality of life will be drastically affected.

Huh?

Whether you believe it, I am a pretty sensitive person. No really, I am. I just don't have patience for my stupidity or that of others - unless there is a reason. And in this case, I just don't get the quality of life debate.

Never did and I never will. I mean, Wrigley Field has had lights for 21 years now - 21 years. It's 2009 folks - not 1809.

The school has been there for DECADES. The lights will be on 66 hours spread out over 60 days during the school year. Honestly, when they are done installing the light poles, I might grab one of the hammers and hammer some sense into these people.

Joe:

I'm surprised you have any time to write a blog. Doesn't driving the Waubonsie Valley state championship bus keep you pretty busy?
