Loyola soccer star Allison Suhey (left) talks about her famous father, her college choice, winning the MVP award at the Pepsi Showdown and her dislike for New Trier in this week's Q & A spotlight.
ALLISON SUHEY SENIOR | FORWARD 5-6 | LOYOLA
Your dad, Matt, is loved by Bears fans for being a member of the team that won the Super Bowl in 1986. What do you think? It's brought up here and there, but I don't think of him like that. He's my dad. It really hasn't been a big deal. I've only seen one play from the Super Bowl game, and that's of him scoring the first touchdown in the game. I've never seen his ring or anything. He retired in 1990, and that's when I was born. I guess it would have been awesome to see him play, but to me he's just my dad.
Why did you pick Penn State? I've been going there my whole life. My dad went there, and now my brother goes there. I have relatives that live right by there. I think it's going to be so much fun.
If you could have anyone in your Fav Five, who would it be? Robert Pattinson, Matt Sullivan, Kenzie Barth, Maggie DuBray and Ashley Wickey.
Favorite radio station and movie? B96 [96.3-FM] and ''Remember the Titans.''
Can you talk about winning the Pepsi Showdown and being named MVP of the largest tournament in the country? The title game was the toughest weather conditions I've ever played in. When it started to hail, it felt like glass was falling from the sky. And then when we were running against the wind, it was even worse. But when we won [beating St. Ignatius 2-0 at Toyota Park], it only made it better and something we will never forget.
If you could meet any person -- dead or alive -- who would it be? My grandpa Steve. He died before I was born, and I've heard so much about him. It's kind of a bummer that I never got to meet him.
What do you remember about 9/11? I was in fifth grade, and I remember seeing the planes hit the towers. I really didn't think it was that big of a deal at the time when it first happened. But then we all realized it was. I helped raise money and did whatever I could to help the people.
Some people are surprised by the success Loyola has had this season. Have you peaked as a team or is it only going to get better? I don't think we've peaked at all. We worked hard in the preseason, getting up at 4:30 in the morning to work out. We're young and talented, and we're only going to get better.
Favorite childhood Christmas gift? When I was 11 years old and in fifth grade, we got our dog Jaz. It's a German shepherd.
Who are you more like, your mom or dad? I'm pretty much my mom. She tells me all the time I'm a more patient version of her.
Best advice you ever received? My parents taught me to be kind to people.
Biggest goal you ever scored? It was my sophomore year in the sectional semifinal against New Trier. I scored, and it put us up 1-0. I beat three defenders and it felt great, because I don't like New Trier at all.
You decided to only play club soccer at Penn State. Are you sad your competitive playing days are almost over? I am sad, and in a way I'm sort of devastated. It's a bummer, but I'm going to have a more diverse college experience. This has been a great season to go out on so far. Soccer has been a big part of my high school career and something I will always remember.
In 10 years ... I hope to be married with one child. I want to adopt a child from Africa and live in Chicago.

Allison is such a class act and a great ambassador for Loyola Academy. She is a talented athlete, great student and a terrific person. I wish her all the best at Penn State.
As a teammate of Allison's it is an honor to play with her. Her leadership as captain goes above and beyond. She is an outstanding athlete, but is so humble. She is always celebrating the accomplishments of her teammates, rather than her own. She is the first to lend encouragement and support to our team. She will be missed next year when we take the field. Penn State is fortunate to have her.
