How can Lyola drop to 9? They lost 1 game to a good Maine South team after their defender gets carted off the field by the ambulance. Joe- Hard to play after that. They did beat Ignatius AGAIN! your #1 seed in pepsi

Rankings are generally meaningless and are just there to get you to buy a paper or click on a website. In a month the top 8 will be at the State Playoffs in Naperville. That's the 8 I care about.

Honestly, I agree they are meaningless, too. I've always said. But people do like to see rankings - it's human nature. But sadly, you won't see the top eight teams in Naperville. Christ, you won't even see eight teams there any longer.

Ah yes Joe. Thanks for pointing out the change in the playoff format and that only the final four will be in Naperville.

So why do I think that it is just a bit unfair that the travel times for most of the teams for games in the Normal West sectional will be substantially greater than in any of the other sectionals?

I am loking forward to your assessment of sectional strength after IHSA gets info posted today. It looks like there will be a couple of killer sectionls and then a few that don't include more than 1 or 2 quality teams

Still can't put Loyola in the top? 12-1-1, They played the best teams on your list. Ok they dropped a game to Lake Forest, but they have beaten EVERYONE so far. I don't see the placement you have them in, but rankings are meaningless right? Thanks for having a place to go and catch up on the season.

You're killing me my man, killing me. There is not one team in front of Loyola in the rankings that it has played - period. With two losses, one of which came to a non-ranked team, they are where they are. There are a lot of teams that can make a case to be ranked that aren't. Enjoy the spotlight and just win - just win.
