In the days leading up to the Pepsi Showdown College Showcase, partnered by YourSeason.com, I'll be featuring players that will take part in the largest high school showcase in the Midwest.

Meet two junior players from Lyons - Hope Spangler and Billy McGuinness. These are just two players that will be showcased on Friday at the Sports Zone in Melrose Park.

Spangler is expected to play a key role for the Lions in the midfielder this spring. The girls program has a rich history of producing some solid playmakers in the middle of the field.

McGuinness is one of the best defenders in the Chicago area. Not only does he understand the game with the best of them, but he has the speed, technical ability and is tough mentally. He has played in every varsity game for the Lions since his freshman season.

In the classroom, the Chicago Magic standout is even better, earning a 4.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
