As I looked around at some of the city soccer fields in New York City on Thursday and Friday, it's safe to say some of the fields need some work - both in the city and surrounding suburbs.
But the key is NYC has fields for high school teams to play on - something that the CPS Public League continues to ignore. Money and space are issues, but there is no proactive plan to address the ongoing problem.
I'm tired of writing about it, and you are tired of reading it. So why hasn't the CPS Public League done anything?
Other news and notes:
*Morton will be joining the Pepsi Showdown powered by ComEd in 2009. St. Viator will be returning, too, to the event partnered by YourSeason.com.
*Oak Lawn is 9-2 after beating Lemont on Thursday.
*Keep an eye on Deerfield.
*Neuqua Valley knocks off St. Charles North and Larkin this week, and will travel to Lyons on Saturday. Not a bad week.

Some schools do have that artificial turf which is real nice. We have natural grass which is in good condition, but one thing is for sure. Some schools have parks as their fields. Those fields are not at all in any shape for a game. They are rocks, dirt, and weeds. For me it's painful because I am a keeper, so diving hurt even though my arms are covered, you still feel the rock digging into your arms.
