Just when I thought this blog was going to be daily throughout the season, it stopped working last week. I assume it was someone trying to shut me up, but it you can only do that for so long.
Sorry soccerguru.
From this point forward, however, it will be daily. And with that said, let's get this week started with some food for thought....
*The Chicago Fire's main fan section is referred to as Section 8. Why? When you think of Section 8, you think of low-income housing. Thoughts?
*Naperville Central was the Sun-Times preseason No. 1, Neuqua Valley was the Tribune's preseason No. 1. Final score on Saturday - Naperville Central 2-1. What does this mean? Not a thing. The two play AGAIN this Saturday. And remember, the last time Neuqua Valley lost the title game of the Best of the West, it went on to win a state title.
*A year ago, Sandburg coach Jack Ferraro told me he could be 0-5 by the third week of the season. Well, the Eagles are 2-3, beating Waubonsie Valley and Fremd. In past years, those would've been quality wins. But Waubonsie Valley and Fremd are not the same powerhouses of years past.
*And finally, the Chicago Park District was given the good ahead to finish a turf soccer field in Lincoln Park last week. One down, 99 more needed.

Joe - Why I am so flattered you remember me!! Why would you assume I want to "shut you up"?? Because I disagree with you at times? On the contrary, I think you're the only voice left for HS soccer, so keep writin and I'll keep readin - and occasionally commenting. Keep up the good work Joe.

Trost we are going to need to post your rankings quicker due to the fact that you are the sole journalist in the HS soccer world today. Plus, do you personally agree with the espn rankings?

I help with the ESPN rankings, which bought StudentSportsSoccer.com.
