So what did we really learn from the first true week of the boys soccer season?

Lyons, Hinsdale Central, Wheaton South, Fremd, Barrington, Sandburg and Waubonsie Valley are middle of the pack teams so far, while Streamwood, Deerfield and Larkin are just three teams to watch this fall.

But if there's one thing we know for sure...

...Naperville Central, New Trier, Neuqua Valley and Geneva are in a league of their own so far.

Thoughts?

Barrington middle of the pack??? They have won 6 in a row since losing their 2 openers and all by shutout...that is impressive. What about Lake Zurich?

How about the outlook of the Sectionals and Regionals in 3A...talk about loaded this year... and then the dropoff in 2A... is this a good or bad thing for the sport.

For example, Barrington, LZ, and Cary in the same Regional... WOW!!! Barrington and LZ alone in the same Regional is intense... and Cary is one of the top teams from the FVC.. so that is unfortunate as well.

Joe - I have to agree with your comments. A lot of parity this year. I think New Trier will be the team to beat. Nap. Central is good, but beatable. Plus Garza looks like he's out. That would be a big blow for Nap. C.

I am new to this website and I was wondering if there is a way to see an individual schools schedule with score results. All I have found is a link to the high schools website and those rarely are updated with score results. The St. Louis areas stltoday.com website has these features that I am asking about. It is very user friendly and enjoyable to see how your competition and friends are doing. Check it out and if the Chicago area has something along these lines please reply.

Thanks.

Larkin beat geneva yesterday they should be in a league of their own above everyone else theres not a team in the state that could beat them if they play the best they could. Neuqua is not that good already has 2 losses one of them being to Lake Park

Well, Michael, Larkin played Neuqua yesterday and Neuqua ended up with a very convincing 3-0 win. After a fairly evenly played first half, Neuqua came out and dominated the second half. I believe Neuqua is starting to play more like a team, and with the talent that they have on the team, that will be bad news for others.
