We are the united states of america. If we want to be in the global economy and gain respect only Barack has been anointed by God and amervia voters WHAT WILL IT BE MAN ACQUIRE ALL THE WEALTH OF THIS EARTH LOSES HIS SOUL. God has sent Barack to rescue this country before DOOMSDAY. We are living the last days of this evil world full of anxiety, natural disasters, disease, hunger and poverty, wars , pollution, and Grand daddy of all: Greed: America wake up and pray stop hating your neighbor.

Pray for Barack obama right now,. He is the next President of united states ,..

It was very moving.Gave me goose bumps. This is something that not many people will experience in a life time. He made us see our visions can come true. He made me believe that there is going to be change.

McCain and Obama are the same.
Their foreign policies are identical, They both want more troops in Afghanistan. They want to send more support to Georgia to protect the oil line there. Neither one says bring home the troops from Iraq from the bases -- you know the bases are going to stay there, the embassy as big as the Vatican, that's going to remain. So their foreign policies are exactly the same. They're both very, very aggressive with Iran.

I have been reading several articles on the web about Barack Obama's speech and his wife's speech. I have read people's opinion before and after the speech. Most of them were very favorable. Some want to hear about how he plans on going about doing the things he wants to do. In a speech 50 minutes long...there is no time. Plus he is going to need help of his staff to get these items he discussed rolling and get creative with them to put these items into place.

I also read some information about Republicans who had negative things to say. They were not concrete. Basically they said we don't like him or trust him. Not why they felt this way. Do they really want another 4 years of what Bush has given us? They can't possibly be so stubborn about their party that they are willing to risk ours and their own futures to the horrific things Bush has done to our Country.

I don't understand where the "star" persona of Barack started or even where people associate him with. Granted Hollywood has primarily been Democratic but that does not make Barack a "rock star"....who said he could sing?????

Also people said that McCain has his own accomplishments. Yes he does. I believe exactly what Barack said last night he is a patriotic man and has done a lot for our country through the service, however, Barack has had major accomplishments with his life. Does that not count for anything? Who takes a new job position and is totally qualified for it or even knows exactly what the job entails until you get into that position. This goes for Senator McCain as well.

Well enough for today. As you can see I am totally in favor of Barack Obama and I was and still am a Hillary Clinton supporter. Unfortunately only one of them gets to win....and Barack did. So we go on from there. I believe if Hillary did not get the nomination then Barack Obama is an excellent choice for the job. And what a job it is!

Obama did a splendid job in convincing America that he is the man for the job. he did it conviction, pride, truth and most importantly no animosity for the Republicans. He proved that it is not about hating the other side -- it's about believing in what is right and taking the steps to make America a better place. At the end of the day it is not about a speech critique and how did Obama do on the podium-- it's about telling America like it is; it's about being real and letting them know that enough is enough and it is time to make a positive change for the betterment of all citizens... all citizens.

GREAT SPEECH. I was half asleep when I heard it but the parts I did indeed hear were very moving...

Speech was inspiring:

One problem I have with Dems though:
For past 40 years, every Republican administration has spent $ like drunken sailors accumulating a debt, soon to exceed 10 trillion. When that bill comes due, Americans are taxed. Who's to blame? Democrats? Are Americans that stupid?
Why can't Americans get upper hand on this issue??

There were many parts of Obama's Speach I really liked. I appreciated his focus on average Americans and breaking barriers. However, I believe he focused on McCain too often. While we as Democrats do need to argue why we are a better choice, if we focus to much on the Republicans we work against ourselves. Instead of saying why McCain is bad and Obama is different, let's focus on why Obama is great (and he is). Of course we need to say why we are better than our opponents, but we can do so by highlighting our perspective first and discussing how McCain's differs dramatically from ours.

Bottom line, if we focus too much on why McCain is a worse choice, we are still focusing on McCain. I believe this was one of our biggest errors four years ago. When we said we were anti-Bush, we were still talking about Bush rather than Kerry. We don't want to make that mistake this election.

Let's focus on Obama. He is a wonderful choice!

Obama's speech left me feeling like a kid waiting to open my Christmas presents, but on January 20th.

My Take on It

The politics of America in my experience since I was allowed to vote has been a really dreary and depressing one. Mostly because it was an affair for few, regardless of what the world thinks of the land of the free. The truth was that few of the people I was surrounded by, in college and later in my different jobs, were simply uninterested in politics.

So imagine the scene, poor Barbie, always questioning, always wanting to hear the point of views of my colleagues, frustrated and confused on how such a world leader of freedom and independence thinkers, can create so few of their people who cared to be involved in the dialogue. The feeling was even more depressing when it was time too go vote and seeing the same old people casting their votes!!!

Most of the people I knew, during the past 3 presidential elections (which I was able to be part of) didn’t even seemed to paid any attention to the primaries or the presidential campaigns at all. They knew little about the candidates and I attribute that ignorance and lack of interest in our government and our politics. In my humble opinion, I attribute this lack of involvement in our politics to the biggest mistake of our generation, electing President George W. Bush for a second term.

But this election year has been the year of the awakening, the awakening of the American spirits and I attribute it all to senator Hillary Clinton but most importantly to our next president Barack Obama!!!

He has revived the spirit of democracy in this nation, he has created an atmosphere where people are raising and reaching out to make a difference, to make their voices heard and that alone make him qualified to lead this nation out of the hold we have dogged ourselves into.

Tonight watching Al Gore’s speech and then Barack Obama’s speech made me teary, made me proud to be an American and reminded me how much I love democracy and the freedom to speak up when we see that something just doesn’t work.

This convention had sooo much hype. I was excited to hear the speeches of Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton. MO had a great speech, though it appeared to me that it was someone else's words. HC blew me away, she was great (and I'm not a Clinton supporter). But to be honest, the media has saturated the airwaves with Obama, Obama, Obama. In the end, I had no interest in watching his speech, I've grown quite tired of all the hype.

This speech was enormously convincing and successful. It is time for our nation to elect youth. OLDER MEN HAVE BEEN DIRECTING OUR LIVES FOR YEARS AND NOW IT IS TIME FOR A NEW VISION.
I do believe that McCain is an honorable man, but that is not enough. Because he was a POW does not give him a free pass to the presidency.
Our grandchildren will inherit the deficit if a new path is not taken. Our children have been given a promise hat can not be kept. Hopefully, with Obama we can properly educate our children and not put continual focus on a test at the end of the year. For those of you who do not beliee me, compare our ranking in the world in education. It is time for a CHANGE!

Obama, still no substance
Obama did a great job reading from the tv screen. It is great to know...(now being reminded on several occasions)...that he is a wonderful family man...father...son...etc. We still come away with not knowing his accomplishments. We certainly know what he stands for...higher taxes..abortion rights...no health care for the live aborted child...very extreme. There is STILL no experience with this guy. Remember, he is not running for city council...he is running for the highest...most important position in the world. McCain is the obvious choice here.

Listening to Obama, I got swept up with his rhetoric. Even as I knew that he was promising enough to be some sort of 21st century savior, still, all his ideas coincided with issues that matter to me, to my family, issues that have needed addressing for a long time: health care, affordable college. Wanting to have a candidate,as the saying goes, that I can believe in, I forget that politicians are the antithesis of people to believe, even the best of them are not about belief but about inspiring confidence. But I was listening to Obama's words, listening to the crowd's approval, and rolling along, even thinking that maybe I AM to cynical, maybe change can occur in this dramatic way, and then. And then, out comes the scriptures. He finished his speech by quoting his religion, the same religion that keeps rearing its divisive head into American politics. the same religion that, had it been Republican candidate spouting its scriptures, would have made me think "fundamentalist" and "holy roller" and turn and run towards the other party. I wanted to feel included, and Obama named enough types of Americans to make many feel personally addressed. But he alienated me at the end. I don't want religion in my politics. Not my religion and not someone else's. No matter how deeply religious he might be (giving him the benefit of the doubt) surely he could have found a way to paraphrase the scriptural sentiment that appealed to him. Or was being a typical politician, politics as usual that he so derided and using religion to court votes? No matter which, I landed back on earth with a thump. Obama was still floating overhead, the crowd still cheering him on. Only I was disenfranchised. Keep religion out of politics. This is not a Christian government. It is an American government. It was founded on that difference.

Only In America.....Barack ROCKED tonight!!!

I loved it, loved it!! I am British born, but live and work here in America. The ONLY reason that Senator Obama MAY not win the election is obviously because of his RACE - there is still so much Racism in this country, and that's a fact! I am praying though.....

i think his speech was amazing. he clearly pointed out what he wanted to do.

Absolutely fantstic speech. Smart, inciteful and in touch. We will be so lucky to have this man as our commander in chief.

Obama's speech was almost perfect, Biden smiles too much.

I believe that Obama is truly bringing to the table the change Americans need. We don't need another professional legislator, we need a leader with new ways and the ability to have the backing of the nation. I think he has that. We need to fix the wrongs, reenergize the nation that has become complacent. Obama can do it - will we let him?

Great sounding but the words dont make sense, there are no facts. Again he says he is ready to debate but will not.

No beef. Blah Blah Blah Bush is bad an McCain is Bush.

Lets all be zombies and follow him.

They set the stage for the "Messiah", he appeared like he were the "Messiah" & he spoke like he were the "Messiah" ... But he is definitely NOT the Messiah!!! He is a half term Senator from Illinois who graduated from Harvard and has yet to accomplish anything substantial to earn the qualification to RUN for the highest office in this country. Yet he's appearing, acting and talking like he is ALREADY the MAN or even more ... I don't understand this at all !!
Can something explain this to me please ??

This guy sucks...
