Northwestern head men's basketball coach Bill Carmody has announced the hire of Joe Kennedy as the team's director of operations. Kennedy replaces John Davidson who recently left the program to pursue other professional opportunities.

His duties include assisting in all aspects of the everyday workings within the Wildcat basketball office and program, including all travel arrangements and serving as the team's academic liaison among a variety of other demands.

"This is a dream come true," Kennedy said. "I am extremely excited to assist Coach Carmody and the entire staff as Wildcat Basketball continues to move forward."

A 2007 Northwestern graduate with degrees in social policy and religion, Kennedy was a four-year letterwinner with the Wildcats from 2004-07. He served as a team captain his senior year and was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
