Cappie Pondexter, one of best female basketball players produced in Chicago returned home Tuesday as the leading scorer for the New York Liberty, which played the Sky at Allstate Arena Tuesday night.
"I'm really happy in New York, it's a place I wanted to live," said Pondexter, who was a WNBA Finals MVP for Phoenix, before becoming part of a huge three-team trade that saw Shameka Christon and Catherine Kraayeveld land in Chicago, Pondexter in New York and former Sky All-Star Candice Dupree landed in Phoenix.
"I'm happy and it's always nice to come back to Chicago."
The move to New York landed Pondexter close to her college home at Rutgers.
