The Chicago Sky's home opener is set for Saturday night at 7 on its new home court, Allstate Arena in Rosemont, against the Indiana Fever.
Both teams started 0-2, but the reigning Eastern Conference champion Fever had four starters miss training camp while playing overseas. After an 0-2 start last year, the Fever won 11 in a row.
This is a home-and-home weekend for the teams, which will play again Sunday at 5 p.m. in Indianapolis.
The game will be the first regular-season home game for Sky rookies, and draft picks, Epiphanny Prince (Rutgers) and Abi Olajuwonn (Oklahoma). Also new are forwards Cathrine Kraayeveld and Shameka Christon, who came to the Sky as part of a three-team trade that saw former Marshall and Rutgers star Cappie Pondexter land in New York, and former Sky All-Star Candice Dupree to Phoenix.
The Fever has a Chicago-area presence on its roster that includes former Stevenson High and Tennessee All-America Tamika Catchings and former Joliet Catholic and DePaul star Allie Quigley.
Before the game, the Sky will host a House Warming Party to commemorate the team's move to Allstate Arena. The party includes a rock climbing wall, inflatable obstacle course, face painters and balloon makers.
