The Chicago Slaughter will host division rival Green Bay Blizzard Saturday evening at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates.
Hoffman Estates Mayor William D. McLeod and Green Bay Mayor James J. Schmitt of Green Bay have a bet on the game. If the Slaughter wins, McLeod will receive Green Bay-related items, including steaks and a Green Bay-opoly game. If the Blizzard wins, Schmitt will receive a Craftsman tool set from Hoffman Estates-based Sears, a men's grooming kit from Mary Kay cosmetics and memorabilia from the Village of Hoffman Estates.
A pregame event with Slaughter coach and 1985 Super Bowl Champion Bears great, Steve McMichael. A pregame rally will be held at 6:15 p.m. in the tailgate section of the Sears Centre (SW parking lot) where a large dump truck will be available for every Slaughter fan to shed, shred and trash their Green Bay paraphernalia. Slaughter fans who bring any green & yellow item displaying the words "Green Bay" to be tossed into the garbage truck and crushed will receive a free ticket to the May 28 Slaughter home game.
