As a high school junior at Immaculate Heart of Mary, Michele Savage, won a state championship and was named the Chicago Sun-Times Player of the Year in girls basketball.
Savage, a Northwestern graduate and All-Big Ten standout was recently named the head coach at Davidson after nine years as an assistant coach at Tulane.
Savage also served as an assistant at Cornell University, Toldeo and Chicago State.
Savage, who was recruited by Don Perrelli to Northwestern, graduated from NU in 1993 and left the program as a three-time All-Big Ten selection and she helped lead NU to the 1990 Big Ten title.
