Out of Left Field

If you run, there may have been times where you imagine yourself as an animal, vehicle or another athlete (or maybe I'm just hoping other people are imagining these things...) For me, there has always been one image that always returns to me whether I'm in spin class or running the trail...a train?!?!!

So here we go (below pic from Heritage Railways).


Pistons - hamstrings, gluteus maximus, etc
Connecting and Coupling Rods - leg bones
Driving Wheels - feet
Coal - food in my belly and H2O

When I imagine this I feel strong. In fact, so strong that nothing could possibly stop me. My legs feel like steel. My core feels tight. The idea makes it easier to participate in the mundane task of putting one foot in front of the other.
