The Marin Report is a fast-paced, insightful look at the day's top news from renowned reporter Carol Marin. Watch it each weekday at noon.

Here are the stories we're following today:

• The 52-year old son of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakahn is a Harvey police officer -- sort of. Mustapha Farrakhan has a badge, a gun and an unmarked Harvey police car but hasn't worked as a cop since 2008.

• It's hard to find two politicians more opposite than Wisconsin's Paul Ryan and Chicago's Luis Gutierrez but the two House members are in Chicago today to push for immigration reform.

• New documents show more than $500,000 in contracts went to members of the d'Escoto family while Fred d'Escoto was on the UNO board and Michael d'Escoto was a top UNO official.

• Actress Tilda Swinton led a conga-line Sunday at Ebert-fest in Champaign-Urbana.
