Here are the stories we're following today:


Nine out of ten of the Chicago Public School students potentially affected by school closings this year are black, a Chicago Sun-Times analysis has found, a discovery one community activist called a "lawsuit waiting to happen." A decision must come by the end of month from Superintendent Barbara Byrd-Bennett.

• The Salvation Army food van will keep feeding the homeless in the 46th Ward. This follows a series of columns by Mark Brown. The decision came after a meeting with Alderman James Cappleman, who had wanted the service shut down.

• Mayor Rahm Emanuel apparently isn't biting on the Cubs newest offer... to build a 40,000 square foot athletic club.

• And famed reporter Bob Woodward had this to say last night about the Mayor and politics in Washington: "It's not all your fault, but there's a hyper-partisanship, that is so off the charts." And yes, the Mayor was there when he said it.

Carol Marin is the political columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times. In addition to her work at the paper, she is the political editor for NBC5 News and an interviewer/contributor to WTTW's Chicago Tonight program.
