After averaging 21.3 points and a combined 27 assists in leading the Bulls to a 3-0 record last week, point guard Derrick Rose was named the Eastern Conference player of the week on Monday.

"I guess I'm playing good basketball, doing whatever it takes for my team to win," Rose said. "I'm happy that I got the award."
