PHOENIX -- Bulls forward Taj Gibson was a last minute scratch from tonight's game with the Phoenix Suns with what is described as a right ankle injury.
Gibson had been bothered since Sunday with what was described as a pinched nerve on the outside of his right foot. After sitting out practice Sunday and Monday, Gibson played 40 minutes Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers.
About an hour before the game, coach Tom Thibodeau said Gibson was the same as Tuesday, but then word came about 25 minutes before tip-off that Gibson was a no go with the ankle injury.
Against the smallish Suns, Thibodeau opted to go small with Ronnie Brewer moving into the starting lineup at small forward with Luol Deng shifting to power forward.
