Vinny Del Negro's 82-82 regular-season record in two seasons with the Bulls wasn't enough for him to keep his job, but it was enough to land him another NBA head coaching job.
The Los Angeles Clippers announced Tuesday night that they have hired Del Negro to be their next coach.
If Del Negro can get the Clippers in the playoffs two straight years like he did with the Bulls, he'd be a hero in Los Angeles because the Clippers make the playoffs only slightly more often than the Cubs win the World Series.
Del Negro, though, will have players to work with. The Clippers have a good young roster, including Blake Griffin, who had to sit out his entire rookie year last season because of a knee injury.
Good for Del Negro. Despite a shaky beginning, he improved throughout his time with the Bulls and deserves another shot.
