Bulls sign Korver to three-year deal

| 9 Comments | No TrackBacks

The Bulls' glaring hole at shooting guard got a little smaller on Friday night after they signed swingman Kyle Korver to a three-year deal for an estimated $15 million.

Korver, 29, played in 52 games off the bench for the Utah Jazz last season, averaging 7.2 points in 18.3 minutes. He's averaged 9.9 points during his seven-year career.

Korver isn't a great player and may not be someone who can start because of his defense. But he is one of the best perimeter shooters in the NBA and the Bulls are desperate for outside shooting.

Now go sign Ronnie Brewer.

WHAT A GREAT ADDITION, HE WILL AVERAGE 15 POINTS A GAME

Despite undergoing knee surgery, Korver returned last season to set an NBA record by shooting 53.6 percent from three-point range.

Ronnie Brewer, Josh Boone,Alonzo Gee "RTR",possibly Josh Howard

This is Craig Hodges except nearly 20 years later. Great 3 point shooter, but no defense. I said the following the day of the Hinrich trade: The Bulls got hosed on that deal. You give up the 17th pick in the draft PLUS an above average, fairly young player that the Wizards had coveted for the past couple of years and you get nothing in return. Even if the Bulls had gotten James, you still work the trade to where you can get a conditional 1st next year. Like maybe if the pick is in the top 7 or so, the Wizards keep it and the Bulls get their 2012 pick regardless, but if it's lower than 7 the Bulls get it in 2011. Trades like that are made all the time. You got rid of cap space, didn't land one of the big three, and got nothing for a good defender and decent player.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE BULLS GO GET SHAUN LIVINGSTON TO PLAY SG. HE HAS A GREAT MID-RANGE GAME IS A GREAT PASSER, HE ALSO HAS SOMETHING TO PROVE HE'S A GREAT KID AND A CHICAGO GUY AND HE'S ONLY 24 YEARS OLD AND HE PLAYS BETTER DEFENCE THEN REDICK. I ALSO THINK WE'VE GOT TO SIGN BACK BRAD MILLER I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM SIGN PATRICK O'BRYANT A 7'0 CENTER FROM TORONTO. 2010-2011 BULLS

The way Paxson screwed up this team by not getting Gasol and then choosing Thomas over Alridge, makes you wonder. Letting Gordon go for nothing, and giving Dang too high a salary gives any Bull fan a pause for thought.

They could have had Gasol for Gordon or Deng. Forhman is just Charlie McCarthy for Paxson. Forhman promised to bring Gordon back and then Reinsdorf threw him under the bus saying they never intended to bring Gordon back.

The 3 stooges will never take us anywhere.

With a stable front line line and D Rose driving to the hoop I believe Kyle Korver will average 8 points a game with the Bulls.
All Kyle needs is more shooting opportunities and I believe he will get more shots with the Bulls! However, if we get J.J. Reddick who knows how many shots he will get. There is one thing for sure we definitely will have better balance and floor space. Go Bulls!

At least the Bulls have tried to fill the void a little. Hopefully we can get J.J Reddick and Ronnie Brewer signed next. A definite improvement that will be needed.
